Window Starter Tabs is a Chrome extension published by Viars Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension accesses, how that information is used, and how it is handled.
Window Starter Tabs stores configuration information that users provide to the extension, including:
Website URLs added to a user's starter-tab list
Optional names associated with saved tabs
Whether individual tabs are enabled
Whether individual tabs should be pinned
The extension's enabled or disabled setting
The order of saved tabs
This information is used solely to provide the extension's core functionality.
Window Starter Tabs includes an optional Import current window feature.
When a user chooses this feature, the extension requests Chrome's optional tabs permission. If the user grants permission, Window Starter Tabs can access the following information about tabs in the user's current Chrome window:
Page URLs
Page titles
Whether a tab is pinned
This information is accessed only so the extension can populate the user's starter-tab list without requiring the user to enter every tab manually.
Window Starter Tabs does not read the contents of webpages, passwords, form entries, email messages, browsing activity unrelated to the import action, or keystrokes.
Window Starter Tabs uses the Chrome storage.sync API to store the user's extension settings and starter-tab configuration.
Chrome may sync this information between browsers where the user is signed into and syncing the same Chrome profile. This syncing is provided by Chrome and Google according to the user's Chrome and Google account settings.
Viars Labs does not operate an external server that receives or stores this information.
Information accessed by Window Starter Tabs is used only to:
Remember the user's starter-tab configuration
Automatically open configured websites in new Chrome windows
Pin tabs when requested by the user
Import tabs from the current window when the user explicitly chooses that feature
Maintain the user's extension preferences
Information is not used for advertising, profiling, marketing, creditworthiness, lending decisions, or any unrelated purpose.
Viars Labs does not sell user data.
Viars Labs does not transfer user data to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
The developer does not use browsing information to create profiles or serve personalized advertisements.
The extension's settings may be processed by Chrome's synchronization infrastructure when the user has Chrome Sync enabled.
Window Starter Tabs does not contain advertising SDKs, third-party analytics services, behavioral tracking systems, or tracking pixels.
Users control the information stored by Window Starter Tabs through the extension itself.
Users can modify or remove saved tabs and settings at any time. Users can also uninstall the extension if they no longer wish to use it.
Chrome synchronization and account-level retention are governed by the user's Chrome and Google account settings.
Window Starter Tabs does not transmit user tab information to a server operated by Viars Labs.
The extension's executable code is packaged with the extension and does not download or execute remotely hosted code.
Window Starter Tabs' use of information received from Chrome APIs is limited to providing and improving the extension's disclosed user-facing functionality.
Window Starter Tabs' use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Window Starter Tabs' features or data practices change. Any updated policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
