WINCHESTER COMMUNITY PARK

Winchester Community Park is our privately-owned sporting facility located at 120 Cross Street in Winchester. The facility includes two fields: (1) a full sized 11v11 field located indoors in the Fieldhouse (FH), and (2) a second full sized 11v11 field outdoors called Ryan Connolly Field (RCF). Each 11v11 fields also accommodates two 9v9 fields. Most home games for our 9v9 and 11v11 teams are hosted at Winchester Community Park

HOUSE RULES

The WCP Fieldhouse is an indoor facility with two levels: a playing surface, and an upstairs mezzanine for spectators. As with all indoors facilities, additional surfaces such as the ceiling, mezzanine, or other wires can come into play. In that event, WCP has developed a set of House Rules that are intended to be fair and not unjustly punish, or award, a specific team. It is important that coaches and players know the house rules, and understand the mechanics of a drop ball.

** A drop ball is an indirect kick and must touch another player before scoring. All players must remain 4 yards away until the ball is in play. Players do not need to stand the typical 10 yards away required for a free kick..

Ceiling - If a played ball hits the ceiling, it will result in a drop ball below the site where the ball hit the ceiling
Ceiling – If a GK punt hits the ceiling, it will be a drop ball below the site where the ball hit the ceiling. If the ball hits the ceiling within the 18, the ball will be dropped at the nearest spot on the 18-yard box.
Wires – If a played ball hits a crossing wire, it will result in a drop ball from the area of interruption
Mezzanine – If a ball hits the mezzanine, it is considered out of bounds. This includes endlines where corner kicks or other played balls can hit the overhanging mezzanine.

SCHEDULING AND GAMES

Pre-K, Sandlot, and In-Town leagues are managed internally and the schedules are published directly to the teams. If you are looking for schedule information on one of those programs please reach out to the Age Group Coordinator.

All Travel schedules are published on the BAYS.org website.

Game Day - Rain-Outs and Proactive Rescheduling for BAYS league games

Rain-outs and practice rescheduling

If a HOME game cannot be played, the WSC board will notify all coaches & players by 7AM that Saturday morning. (For mid-week games times may vary) It is the responsibility of the coach to notify their opponent of cancelled games. Opposing coach contact information can be found on the BAYS website.
There is a very limited set of circumstances for which a game can be proactively rescheduled. If a team has the minimum number of players (which is less than a full starting lineup), the game should be played as scheduled.
If a game is practively rescheduled coaches must notify their assigned Division Director in writing prior to game day with the rationale for why a game cannot be played as scheduled. The Division Director can be found on the same page as the season schedule on BAYS website.
Coaches are expected to reach out to the opposing coach to identify available windows for game rescheduling. For HOME games, do not finalize a specific time / dates / locations until you have confirmed field availability with WSC via the game change request form below.
For all HOME games, coaches must then submit a change request form to Winchester Soccer Club. Coaches must submit this form for proactive game reschedules and games cancelled due to weather.
Game change request forms must be submitted by WEDNESDAY AT MIDNIGHT the week leading up to the game.
