OUR PURPOSE
As of Fall 2022, Purdue University's College of Engineering undergraduate student body was composed of 27% female students, with the School of Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student body seeing only 17% female enrollment (with similar figures for the graduate student body).
The goal of WiME is to facilitate a community that ensures women feel welcome and empowered in Purdue Mechanical Engineering.
We hope to see the female enrollment rate in Mechanical Engineering increase to better match that of the College of Engineering and plan to help by providing opportunities for FYE, undergraduate, and graduate students to explore and experience the mechanical engineering program firsthand.
