Pilot application of WILUP in updating CLUPs of at least two (2) LGUs will be done as part of the advocacy program. The aim of piloting is to provide a venue for showcasing actual operationalization of WILUP, experiential learning, and capacity building. Likewise, it will also be instrumental to facilitate the formation of core group of advocacy champions consisting of prominent personalities from the government and civil society.
The pilot project sites were selected mainly based on two common typologies of watersheds; one is a watershed with only one LGU with dominant jurisdiction over it; and the other watershed is where there are several LGUs sharing substantial jurisdiction over the watershed
This pilot site is situated within 20 watersheds that encompass a total of 158 barangays from 7 municipalities of Laguna and Batangas Provinces.
Around 51% of the land area of this pilot site can be found in the Baroro Watershed. This watershed covers 81 barangays from 6 municipalities of La Union Province.
