In recent times, our community engagement has been extensive and impactful. Notable activities include
Providing support for the WHS Competition Cheer Team's journey to Florida,
Amassing a collection of over 900 pairs of used eyeglasses,
Co-sponsoring The Wilson Borough Centennial Celebration,
Maintaining a continuous sponsorship of the annual Boro Fall Fest, and
Collaborating with Meals-on-Wheels for food delivery services.
Furthermore, the club actively participates in community events, such as distributing cookies, hot chocolate, and gifts at the annual tree lighting ceremony. In a commitment to the welfare of the community's younger members, the club purchased and distributed 30 winter coats for kids. Also, the club recently made a donation to acquire a new K-9 police dog for our Police Department.
One standout initiative from the club entailed partnering with Borough leaders, the Wilson Area School District, and visual arts students at CHARTS. In collaboration, they procured, designed, and installed four Little Library boxes near Borough Schools and Meuser Park, nurturing a reading and community engagement culture. The Wilson Boro Lions Club continues to be an active and influential force for the betterment of the community.
