We hope you enjoy seeing all of our lovely dogs and puppies! We love them with all our hearts and take pride in assuring their comfort and happiness! Our family-owned facility is located on a wonderful 23 acre farm in rural eastern Pennsylvania, surrounded by pristine forests, fields, and creeks. In addition to providing several fields for our dogs and puppies to exercise in, our kennel serves as a home for a group of neutered rescue cats that keep our kennel rodent free! To ensure our dogs are up to date and healthy, we employ a veterinarian for monthly visits to provide health checks and any care or treatments needed.
We keep our mothers and infant puppies in our nursery from the later stages of pregnancy until the litter is ready to transition to the main kennel. The nursery is prepared to ensure every need of our mothers and puppies is met, including all required immunizations to support a happy, healthy life. The mothers and puppies are kept under close supervision. The nursery is temperature regulated, regularly cleaned, and has many windows to provide a sunny atmosphere. If you would like to meet our puppies, please call and schedule an appointment (visiting hours by appointment only.)
Letter to owner, Terry Smith, from Secretary of Agriculture. Russel Redding was in recognition of Terry's support of Act 18. Terry actively lobbied state senators and assemblymen urging the passage of the act. This amendment to the Pennsylvania Dog Law statutes provides for the following:
modernizing and streamlining the dog licensing process
addresses the insolvency of Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement allowing for improved oversight of PA kennels and dangerous dogs
Stiffer penalties for operators of illegal kennels and other dog law violators
strengthens quarantine and pre-transport for imported dogs
improve public safety by modernizing and simplifying dangerous dog determinations
In addition, Willow Spring Kennels was the only common wealth kennel among thousands listed on the Department of Agriculture website showing organizations in support of Act 18. This included such organizations as The Humane Society, The PA Society of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, The PA State Police, The PA Farm Bureau, United Against Puppy Mills, and The Dog Law Advisory Board
It is policy of Willow Spring Kennels to not sell our puppies and dogs to households with pit bulls or pit bull mixes. Unfortunately, several of our owners have had their cavaliers attacked by pit bull and pit bull mixes. In all cases our cavaliers have sustained significant and somtimes life threatening injuries. In one instance, the cavalier owner's child was attacked. Due to our experiences with pit bulls and pit bull mixes, we will not and should not put a cavalier (or cavalier mix) in an environment of potential risk. Thank you.
