Williams Counselling Services
Daily living can present numerous challenges and unforeseen turmoil just like a sea can be calm and pleasant, but also have waves and storms. As a Registered Social Worker, with a Master's in Clinical Counselling, I am able to assist individuals, couples or families trying to navigate through these life challenges, impairing them from accomplishing their goals or finding strength to manage life situations. Applying a strengths based approach and with the use of the Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I am dedicated to help clients reach mental well-being for living a happy and peaceful life.
Narrative Therapy
Everyone has a story to tell, and has learned skills through their own story to solve their problems.
The persons realizes they are the author of own their story and can strive to make the story work for them.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Each person can solve their own problems given the right resources.
This is another strength based approach using techniques such as goal setting, scale questions and the miracle question to help the person realize what is desired.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Individuals are asked to except their emotions as a reaction to the circumstances they are faced with and focus on committing to make changes in behaviour.
Realizing that with support change can be an empowering action.

There are numerous approaches to therapy and different ones work for different people. These are the approaches I feel work best with the clients I have seen in the past. Since the most important factor about benefit to counselling is the relationship with the counsellor, I strive to make sure you are comfortable and feel welcomed at all times.
I would like to recognize how I work and play on the ancestral unceded territory of the syilx nation. I want to acknowledge and respect the Indigenous people who have lived and cared for this land, past and present.
