A bit of background about William Ray.

The Rays moved from East Sussex to South Buckinghamshire in the mid 80s and I have lived  there most of the years since.

I have benefitted from an excellent education at Chesham Grammar School followed by the University of Exeter where I studied Biological Sciences and Bioinformatics. Most of my career has been in the corporate environment and in the past I have worked for renowned organisations J&J, ICONplc and Bionical Emas. I currently work for Evestia Clinical. My specialism is pharmacovigilance (collection, structuring and analysis of medicine side effects) in which I have over 15 years experience. I have been published in the PIPA professional journal PIPELINE for my expert opinion in this area. More recently I have continued my development with professional exams with recognised organisations PIPA and DIA.

I have overcome a lot in my career. After a breakdown in 2008 I left my job and researched building my own business. I earned cash through casual jobs and contracts to fund an eBay store and my first venture into guitar tuition, technology support and mentoring. I completed a government back training in Marketing and Business. Unfortunately I got only a handful of customers for my services and the supplier of my stock for my eBay shop sent me faulty goods. It was a hard lesson learned. I reset for a while, re-evaluated and applied for jobs locally found my way to a welcoming pharmaceutical CRO locally in 2012. Since then I have rebuilt by career, confidence and health, whilst still having aspirations of a business albeit these days as a side project funded by my career.

I believe in community and have volunteered with Buckinghamshire Mind for over 10 years, first as a befriender and as an expert by experience. I have a deep interest in mental health, psychiatry and psychology that has developed through my volunteering. As well as personal experience, I have worked alongside people living with a range of mental illnesses including psychotic illnesses and alcoholism. Buckinghamshire Mind have given me professional training  and I have been recognised  for my support by the charity CEO. During my time befriending Buckinghamshire Mind received the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for which we are all very proud. Involvement with volunteering has further opened my eyes to the variety of human experience in mental health in our community.

Outside of academia and my career I have built life skills most notably guitar, photography and poetry, all of which I have a strong level of mastery.

The role of this page is for me to further connect with others whether this be in support or in a paid capacity.

This venture is an experiment at the moment and I am keen to meet new people in the areas I have advertised.

If you would like to know more, don't wait! Pick up the phone or send me a message!

I'm looking forward to hearing from you, Will :)
