William Arthur Escandon Lambert
Improv Student, Prospective English Teacher, and Inspiring Writer
Hello, my name is William Lambert. I am a Mexican and Jewish American from Los Angeles, California and a cat dad. In 2016, I earned my B.A. in English from California State University of Los Angeles. Continuing my educational journey, I received my MFA in Creative Writing at San Diego State University in 2020. Wanting to gain more teaching opportunities, I spent a year at the University of San Diego and gained my Masters in Education in Curriculum and a single subject credential in English.
In relation to my education, I have public speaking skills, had abstracts published, and I have worked many jobs involving kids and students such as a Rhetoric and Writing Studies Instructor, Summer Camp Counselor, tutor, After School Program worker, and a Behavior Interventionist. I am currently working as a substitute teacher for San Diego Unified and the La Mesa - Spring Valley School District until I gain a full time teaching position.
When I am not working or in school, I like to read novels and comics, watch movies and anime, play video games, hike, explore, go to museums, and write fiction. I like writing horror, action, satire, crime, noir, flash, comedy, and literary fiction. I am currently working on an action literary thriller novel called The Black Coatl. My goal is to become an English Language Arts instructor, and I also hope to publish my own stories professionally at some point. I am also into improv, and I am currently taking improv classes at Mockingbird Improv to improve my comedy and encahce my creativity.
