William Ashton Dooley’s academic path reflects both breadth and depth. Dooley earned his B.S. in Sport Management, followed by an M.S. in Sport Management and Policy and later completed a Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport Pedagogy. In addition to his advanced degrees, Dooley holds an active Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification (renewed August 2025), underscoring his commitment to safety and preparedness.
As a physical educator, William Ashton Dooley has taught a wide range of undergraduate courses, including Beginning Basketball, Backpacking & Hiking, Ultimate Frisbee, Group Fitness, Body Conditioning, Jogging and Walking (both in-person and online). Serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Instructor of Record, Dooley was honored with the prestigious Ann E. Jewett Award in recognition of his academic excellence and dedication to the future of physical education.

He has supported organizations such as the Humane Society, Nuci’s Space, Historic Athens and Athens Educates, while also volunteering with the Special Olympics as a 5K Run Program volunteer. His service extends to local schools, including participation as a College Bound Volunteer at Bugg Elementary School, where he assisted with programs like the State Sport Management Program and a 3-on-3 Basketball initiative.

As Marketing and Event Planner, he coordinates annual fundraisers — including fishing and golf tournaments and a private concert — while also managing donor relations, silent auctions, sponsorship development and scholarship fundraising strategies. His work ensures that the foundation continues to honor Coach Bill Dooley’s legacy by supporting the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
