Full story of the injury to Whitehead
W. A. Whitehead was involved in many battles and missions, but most notably, he was involved in the Battle of Arracourt and the Battle of the Bulge. The 177th was essential in the Lorraine Campaign. His unit, like many others, is barely remembered by WW2 historians. Artillery groups often worked thankless support jobs that were essential to Allied victory.
