William H. Hyland is a Midcoast Maine native and a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. 

In 2015, he was a national semifinalist in the Bill of Rights Institute Essay Contest and was the 2019 Commencement Speaker at Colby-Sawyer College. 

His other nonfiction work has been found in the Pen Bay Pilot, Yawkey Way Report, and the Bangor Daily News. William now resides in Lisbon, Maine with his wife Summer.
