My fourth Tour de Teddi, thank you sponsors!
My third Tour de Teddi, and thanks to my sponsors, raised the most money I ever have for Camp Good Days -- $550. Enjoyed riding with friends Paul and Maria, and we stopped for a few refreshments close to the finish line.
My second Tour de Teddi that brought out record crowds for the Camp. A great day today.
This was my first year participating in the event, benefiting Camp Good Days in Branchport, NY. Hats off to whoever put ad signs in the Brockport area -- I would not have known about it otherwise. Ironically I spend a considerable amount of time on Keuka Lake, because of our cottage there -- so I knew the roads well. Given the great cause this goes towards, it was a no brainer to ride and raise some money for Camp Good Days.
Despite the threat of rain, the day was a perfect fall day to ride. There was a still wind from the South, but the course was mostly flat and shorter than I am used to. It was fun to ride with over 200 enthusiastic cyclists, and I enjoyed seeing my cycling friends from the Tour de Cure, including Tom, Bob, Richard and Chris. Before I knew it we were in Hammondsport, at the town's center park, a perfect spot for a rest stop.
At the ride's end we were treated to a tasty lunch at the lake shore. I had never been on the grounds of Camp Good Days, so I enjoyed seeing the grounds. I can only imagine how much fun kids have here over the summer.
Thank you to my sponsors -- including a very generous one from Joyce and Chuck Biss -- I've never met these folks -- but they saw my donation page posted on the Wheezers & Geezers FB page. Thanks to David Lamb for posting on FB the reason why I was not at the team picnic. I raised $221 -- and the Tour de Teddi page says the event raised nearly $20,000 for a camp devoted to provide a great camp experience for children who's lives have been affected by Cancer.
