Assignments for students who took Geometry in 2022-2023
Assignments for students who took Geometry in 2022-2023
These problem sets are designed to help you develop greater critical thinking and problem solving skills to facilitate our journey next year and not to master the material you’ll see in the fall. Mastery of the core course concepts will be developed throughout the next school year. There is a healthy mixture of Geometry and Algebra 2 problems, so students rising into either of these courses will have had ample skill development upon their completion.
Start with Problem Set 1 and work sequentially through the problem sets. Be sure to work out each problem; that is show all of your work versus simply circling what you think is the correct answer. You can use this work in the fall to assist you with the core material we will study next school year. Finally, in Problem Set 6 there are review problems to practice the skills you’ve acquired over the summer.
If you’re a student rising into Algebra 2, you can work on the practice SAT problems, if you choose, in order to help you prepare for that exam.
Included are study resources to help you with the material included in these problem sets. We highly suggest you read these prior to starting the problems.
You have the entire summer to complete these problems, but feel free to work at your own pace. You should be able to complete each of the problem sets in about three hours. (One document in an hour.) Given this, you should be able to complete the entirety of the problems in six weeks working three hour per week. It’s like taking a light summer school course.
