Overview
These assignments represent the first 12 assignments in Algebra 2 and are designed to help reacquaint you with some of the material from Algebra B so we can start Algebra 2 with a focus on its core material. Topics in these assignments include:
The Real Number System
Properties of Real Numbers and the Basic Rules of Algebra
Radicals and Rational Exponents
Properties of Exponents
Creating Rational and Radical Expressions
Polynomials and Special Products
Factoring Forms and Strategies
In addition, there are course resources that accompany each assignment. I highly suggest you read each assignment’s accompanying course resource prior to starting each assignment.
Guidelines & Pacing
Guidelines & Pacing
Start with Assignment 1 and work sequentially through all the assignments. Be sure to work out each problem; that is, show all of your work neatly and in a well-delineated manner. I will be checking your work for completion upon returning in the fall.
Do not start the assignments at the end of summer. Rather, develop a routine and work on them throughout the summer at a leisurely pace. The total time to complete the 12 assignments should be no more than 10 hours.
There will be an assessment on this material during the first week of school, so be certain to complete all of the assignments.
