"As a nature enthusiast and experienced educator, I believe in the transformative power of play in the outdoors. My journey with Wild Presencia began with a desire to create a unique space where children could explore, learn, and grow through hands-on experiences in nature. Inspired by my own child's curiosity and the joy of witnessing children connect with the world around them, I am passionate about fostering a lifelong love of learning and nature in every child." - Heidi Lopez Gutierrez
"With a Bachelor of Science in Behavior Health Science with an emphasis on infancy and early childhood studies, and 20 years of experience as a nanny and ABA therapist, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for child development to the forest school environment. Witnessing the transformative power of nature on my own children during our family nature walks solidified my desire to foster a love of learning through exploration in the outdoors. I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where children can blossom at their own pace, building confidence and emotional awareness through connection with the natural world." - Amy Johnson
"As a child, I found my greatest joy exploring the outdoors—playing in the mud, climbing trees, and studying bugs, lizards, and frogs. Nature was my real home, a place alive with energy, the music of coyote howls and bird calls, and pure wonder. Over the years, I’ve explored California’s mountains, deserts, coasts, and redwood forests extensively. I have worked for over five years in various outdoor camps and retreat centers, leading hikes, teaching archery, and operating zip lines.
As a volunteer with The Wildlands Conservancy, I contribute to their mission of protecting wilderness and inspiring others to connect with nature. I hold a Field Ranger certification from College of the Desert and am currently pursuing a degree in Conservation of Natural Resources. My passions include plant identification, foraging, natural medicine, geology, animals, and California history—all of which also inspire my artwork. I believe that nurturing curiosity, knowledge, and respect for the natural world helps children build lifelong connections with the earth and with themselves, inspiring them to become its protectors." -Dominick Grande
