Common Questions

How will you be COVID-safe?

Since we are small groups and are 100% outdoors, the risk of COVID-spread is lower. We will NOT be wearing masks. However, we will happily support your child if you would like them to wear mask. We will also use a temperature check at the start of camp and sanitizer at the beginning of camp, at snack time and at departure.

But what if it rains or is really cold?

Campers should come prepared for all weather. We will be outside in most weather as long as it is safe (including rain and snow). If cold and wet, we will take frequent water breaks and hold hot tea cups and hand and boot warmers. We will also bring along tents to keep dry. We will also follow the Iowa Child Care Weather Watch chart to make sure it is safe for kids.

Here is a link to our family handbooks (Kin & Kinder) (Wildlings Camp) for more about gear.

Do the teachers and volunteers have their clearances?

Bethany has all of her clearances and is First Aid and CPR certified from the Red Cross for Adults and Infants. Wildlings Forest School and all its programming is registered as an LLC and insured as a nature camp with FL Dean.

All volunteers and assistant teachers will have their clearances and experience working with children and nature.

My child has special needs? Can s/he still participate?

If your child has special needs, we are happy to accommodate. We have worked with campers and students with special needs. Let’s talk and find a way to make it work.
