If you want a rugged, titanium-framed headphone with a massive internal library for phone-free workouts and open-ear comfort that handles heavy rain, choose Wildhorn Outfitters Crank Bone Conduction; if you need a dedicated underwater swimmer with dual drivers for richer bass and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, choose PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming. This isn't a close call when your primary environment is the water or the pool lane.
• Wildhorn Outfitters Crank: Its biggest strength is the durable titanium alloy frame and massive 145-hour internal storage, but it offers standard bone conduction audio without deep bass enhancement. Best for athletes who run in all weather or cycle daily and never want to carry a phone.
• PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming: Its biggest strength is the IPX8 waterproof rating for deep submersion and hybrid bone-air drivers for better sound, but it has a shorter 8-hour battery life than its competitor. Best for swimmers who need to hear their music underwater and value enhanced audio clarity.
The Wildhorn Outfitters Crank is engineered for the person who treats their headphones as essential gear rather than just an accessory. The defining feature here is the construction. You get a titanium alloy frame wrapped in premium silicone. This combination creates a device that is exceptionally strong yet incredibly lightweight. If you have ever worn headphones that dig into your cheekbones after an hour of use, the Crank addresses that specific pain point. The material choice ensures that even during long sessions, the pressure remains minimal, making it suitable for extended listening without fatigue.
Its capability to function completely independently from a smartphone is where this model truly shines. With a built-in MP3 player capable of storing over 2,500 songs or up to 145 hours of audio files, you can leave your phone behind entirely. Whether you are on a long trail run, a bike ride through humid conditions, or simply walking the dog, you don't need to pair with a device constantly. The internal memory holds everything you need. This makes it an ideal candidate for anyone seeking open ear headphones for library environments where they want to read audiobooks or listen to podcasts without the isolation of traditional earbuds, though its true power lies in outdoor mobility.

Connectivity is handled by the latest Bluetooth 5.4 technology, which provides a stable connection up to 10 meters. However, the real magic happens when you switch to the standalone mode. The magnetic charging system adds another layer of convenience, snapping into place automatically to align polarity, ensuring you don't wear out ports over time. A quick 10-minute charge gives you an hour of playback, while a full two-hour charge delivers 12 hours of music or 15 hours of talk time. It is designed for the user who needs reliability above all else, particularly those who sweat heavily or encounter heavy rain, given its IPX7 rating that allows submersion up to one meter for 30 minutes.
The PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming model takes a different approach by prioritizing acoustic performance and aquatic durability. Where other models might settle for basic vibration, PSIER utilizes a hybrid driver system that combines bone conduction with air conduction. This dual-driver design is not just a marketing term; it works synergistically to deliver clearer highs and significantly enhanced bass. The data indicates a 30% increase in bass response compared to standard single-driver units. If you care about the quality of the music you hear, especially the low-end frequencies that often get lost in pure bone conduction, this is the clear winner.
This unit is explicitly built for the pool. It carries a certified IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning it can be submerged in water up to two meters deep for a full hour. This is a significant step up from standard water resistance ratings. While the Wildhorn can handle a splash or a swim across a lap, the PSIER is designed to stay submerged while playing music. To make this work, you simply switch to MP3 mode, which bypasses the Bluetooth signal (which doesn't travel well through water) and plays directly from the onboard 32GB memory card. That internal storage can hold up to 8,000 songs, ensuring you have enough variety for long training sessions without needing a phone tethered to your wrist.
The fit is engineered with seamless liquid silicone coating, creating a soft, lightweight profile that integrates well with swim caps, goggles, and helmets. This stability is crucial for high-intensity swimming where movement is constant. Battery life sits at 8 hours, which is sufficient for most training blocks, though less than the Wildhorn's endurance. The inclusion of Bluetooth 6.0 suggests a focus on ultra-low latency, enhancing the experience when you are out of the water. For the swimmer who wants crystal clear calls headband headphones for library settings or casual listening with superior sound depth, the PSIER offers a more refined audio profile than typical competitors.
• Best for extreme water immersion → PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming. The IPX8 rating allows for two-meter submersion for an hour, whereas the Wildhorn is rated for one meter for thirty minutes.
• Best for battery longevity → Wildhorn Outfitters Crank Bone Conduction. With 12 hours of playtime versus 8 hours, the Wildhorn lasts longer between charges.
• Best for internal storage capacity → Wildhorn Outfitters Crank Bone Conduction. It holds up to 145 hours of audio, while the PSIER holds 32GB (approximately 8,000 songs).
• Best for audio fidelity and bass → PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming. The hybrid bone-air driver system provides 30% more bass and clearer highs than the single-driver Wildhorn.
• Best for durability and build material → Wildhorn Outfitters Crank Bone Conduction. The titanium alloy frame is inherently stronger and lighter than the plastic enclosure found on the PSIER.
• Best for modern connectivity standards → PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming. It features Bluetooth 6.0, offering potentially lower latency compared to the Bluetooth 5.4 on the Wildhorn.
• Best for hands-free independence → Both, but the Wildhorn offers a larger song library for longer trips without a phone.
• Best for app customization → PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming. It includes an exclusive AI-driven Boean app to tailor audio profiles, a feature absent in the Wildhorn specs.
In my opinion, if I were buying these for myself today, I would choose the PSIER Bone Conduction Swimming specifically for its ability to deliver actual music quality underwater and its superior bass response. The hybrid driver system solves the biggest complaint people have about bone conduction: thin sound. However, if your priority is purely durability and maximum battery life for land-based activities like cycling or running in the rain, the Wildhorn is the more robust tool. For a library setting where you want to enjoy audiobooks or music with clear audio separation, the PSIER's enhanced frequency range makes it the more enjoyable choice for passive listening, provided you aren't looking for weeks of battery life on a single charge.
Yes, both models utilize open-ear designs that allow you to hear ambient noise, making them safe and polite for shared spaces. They do not block your ears, so you remain aware of your surroundings while enjoying your content.
You can swim with the Wildhorn, but only at shallow depths. It is rated IPX7, allowing submersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. For serious laps or deep diving, the PSIER with its IPX8 rating is the safer bet for long-term underwater use.
No, both devices have built-in MP3 players. The Wildhorn stores up to 145 hours of audio, and the PSIER holds 32GB (up to 8,000 songs), allowing you to leave your phone at home and still listen to your entire playlist.
The PSIER offers better sound quality due to its dual-driver system that combines bone and air conduction, delivering 30% more bass. The Wildhorn provides standard bone conduction audio, which is clear but lacks the depth of the PSIER.
