Co-founder and Director Erin Kiernan holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Indiana University and has over 10 years of teaching experience. She was involved with Wilbraham United Church Nursery School for 10 years in various capacities, and is excited about carrying over those values and experiences to Wilbraham Community Preschool. Erin and her husband have 4 children and can often be spotted at a variety of sports practices and games around Wilbraham. In her spare time she likes to read, cook, walk, ride her bike and travel to Maine in the summer with her family.
Co-founder and Director Deanna Hannon has over 8 years in the education field, teaching preschool and elementary school. Deanna earned her bachelor's degree and credits towards a master's degree in Early Childhood Education from American International College. After being home with her children for a few years, Deanna is excited to get back into preschool. Living in Wilbraham with her husband and two children, she enjoys spending time with her family, entertaining, watching New England sports and vacationing in Maine.
Lead Teacher Melissa Berard, graduated from Westfield State College with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked in the education field for 9 years, working with 3 and 4 year old children before having her second daughter, where she then became a stay-at-home mom. She is very excited to be back in the classroom! She lives in Springfield with her husband and two daughters and loves spending time with friends and family.
Lead Teacher Meaghan Cianflone, has her associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from STCC and her BA in Liberal Arts from Westfield University. Meaghan was a preschool teacher for four years prior to having her twin boys, Nicolas and Anthony. Their sister, Annabella, followed 19 months later. Meaghan and her husband have lived in Wilbraham for the last seven years. They are also proud parents to Stanlee, their pug. While home with her children, Meaghan taught herself the ins-and-outs of sugar cookie decorating, and has been doing that on the side for many years. In her spare time you can find her on a soccer field, baking, and hosting family and friends with amazing BBQ and charcuterie boards.
Lead Teacher Olivia D’Amour graduated from Saint Michael’s College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Olivia taught in a first grade classroom in East Providence Rhode Island for 3 years before moving to Wilbraham and having her son, Julian. Since the birth of Julian, Olivia has been a stay at home mom and has welcomed three additional children into the world. While at home, Olivia has taken to gardening and chicken keeping. In fact most of her free time is spent with her family and dogs exploring the outdoors. She is very excited to be back in the classroom this fall!
Lead Teacher Megan Lenahan holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education and a master’s degree in Reading Education from Florida State University. She has over 10 years of experience in education, having taught special education, fourth grade, preschool, and English online. Megan, her husband, and their three little boys relocated to Wilbraham from Atlanta, GA last fall and love exploring all that New England has to offer. Megan also enjoys being active, traveling, reading, being at the beach, and spending time with family and friends whenever possible. She is looking forward to being back in the classroom this year.
Lead Teacher Connie Quinn has been in the education field since 2010. She has a master's degree in education from Cambridge College. Connie was a Pre-K teacher before having her daughter in 2013. She was a stay at home mom prior to starting her new position at Wilbraham Community Preschool as lead teacher. Connie resides in Hampden with her husband and daughter, and enjoys spending time with them watching movies and taking weekend trips to Cape Cod.
Janeen LaPorte, Lead Teacher, holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Westfield State College and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Western New England University. She taught in the city of Springfield for 12 years before staying home with her daughter for 2 years. She is excited to be back for her third year at WCP this year! Janeen grew up in Wilbraham and now also resides in town with her husband and two children, William and Emma. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking trips to the beach!
Teacher Jamie Johanntoberns-Tabb graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. She has been a nanny for local families and worked at daycares. Although Jamie would say her favorite job has been being a stay at home mom to her 4 children, she also substituted in the Hampden Wilbraham Regional School District. Jamie lives in Wilbraham with her family. In her spare time you can usually find her running around town, walking her dogs at Fountain Park, going to the beach during the summer, and spending time with family & friends.
Kathy Duquette, Assistant Teacher, graduated from Elms College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Social Work. She has a Masters Degree from Cambridge College. She worked in the Springfield Public School System for over 25 years and retired in 2018 and then part time in the schools until 2020. She is excited to work with children again and help in the classroom. Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and going on trips to the beach!
Ashley Davis, Assistant Teacher, studied Early Childhood Education and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Management from Simmons College in Boston, MA. She moved to Wilbraham in 2014 with her husband Mark, who was born and raised in Wilbraham. Since moving to Wilbraham, she has been a stay-at-home mom to her three children Samuel, Adelyn and Kinsley. During her time at home she has also been very involved in children’s programs and events for the community, the Wilbraham Parks and Rec Department, the Wilbraham schools and the Wilbraham Children’s Museum serving as a board member for several years. She loves being with her family, baking and being active. She is very excited to continue her role with children at WCP as her youngest child heads into Kindergarten this fall!
Patricia Colkos just recently retired from the Hampden Wilbraham
Regional School district where she was a kindergarten teacher at MileTree School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood from William Paterson University and her Masters in Early Childhood from Springfield College. She is excited to continue to work with children and help at Wilbraham Community Preschool. She resides in Wilbraham with her family. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, music, and traveling.
