The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, released the World Competitiveness Ranking 2024, under which Hong Kong was ranked 5th out of 67 economies, up from the 7th place in the world last year.
Singapore ranked first, followed by Switzerland, Denmark, Ireland and Hong Kong. Taiwan ranked 9th, the United States 12th, Mainland China 14th, South Korea 20th and Japan 38th.
