Tips for taking good indoor photography
If you are interested in interior photography there are a number of factors that you have to take into account to obtain good images. It is possible that you are learning or you simply want to promote a business or sale or rental of housing, we recommend that you go to a professional photographer India , Hyderabad or any other city where you can find specialists.
But if you are also interested in knowing how to take a good photograph of a space, the first thing we must tell you is that we are not prone to strict rules within what we consider an art, although depending on the destination of the images, they may require a typology or other of images (with more or less air, lighter or darker, more or less contrasted, with specific, general angles or detail photos). Likewise, we will give you a series of general tips that we consider important to photograph interiors:
1- Use natural light whenever possible . This depends 100% on the light that each place has, but it is true that the more natural the lighting , the clearer our photo will be and there will be no mixture of lights that complicates us in editing the image. The less experts we are on the subject, the better that we do not complicate this subject. With natural light we will avoid having to learn how to handle a professional camera with flash and its subsequent editing.
2- Always use a tripod with a remote shutter release (or set the camera timer instead). When we shoot indoors it is very possible that we are not always lucky enough to have a light that floods the space. Therefore, we must use the possibilities of the camera to our advantage. We will have to use a tripod and slow speeds. If we use these speeds with the camera in hand, the image will be blurred. For this reason, it is very important that we have a sturdy tripod and that we do not shoot with the camera button, since we will be able to move it slightly and it will happen again that the image is blurred.
3- The ideal is to use a large format camera , although it is not essential: with a semi-professional we can also obtain quality images that are valid to show a property at a basic level but with good appearance. Likewise, the most suitable lens is a not very exaggerated wide angle , since if it is too open it can distort the lines of the interiors (walls, furniture ...). A suitable angle could be 14-24mm.
4. The height of the camera is something that also has to be taken into account. This depends a bit on the style of the photographer, but we have to take into account the characteristics of the spaces. In a bathroom or kitchen, the surface of the countertops should be visible, so the height can be slightly higher than the waist.
The bedroom, however, allows a height at waist level, since the surface of the bed can be seen perfectly from there, as in a living room, which will only be raised from that height if there is an object that hinders the view.
5. The composition is always better if it is called "two walls", as this helps us to see the room in a greater amplitude. Taking out three walls will generally make the space appear narrower and longer. This does not mean that this shot cannot ever be removed if there is no other choice.
These are just a few basic tips if, for whatever reason, you find yourself in need of taking your own interior photography. We could extend much more, in fact, we do not rule out further information if you are interested. And, of course, if you need a high-quality result, our advice is to go to a professional who does this job perfectly.
