TWifiGuard ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") is designed to help users assess the security of their Wi-Fi connections. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and when it may be shared.
To provide its features, the App accesses certain information available on your device and network.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
Android requires location permission for apps to access nearby Wi-Fi network information, such as network names (SSIDs) and signal strength. The App does not access, collect, store, or transmit your precise or approximate GPS location.
NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES (Android 13 and later)
Used to scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks.
Used to:
Scan nearby Wi-Fi networks.
Read information about your current Wi-Fi connection.
Discover devices connected to your local network.
This information is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Used to display local security alerts when the App detects potential Wi-Fi security issues.
INTERNET
Internet access is used only for:
Performing internet speed tests using Cloudflare endpoints.
Checking for captive portals using Google connectivity check endpoints.
Sending diagnostic, crash, and usage analytics to Firebase.
The App stores certain information locally on your device so it can function properly across sessions. This may include:
App settings
Previously detected Wi-Fi networks
Heatmap data
Other locally generated configuration data
This information remains on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear the App's data.
To improve reliability and performance, the App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
These services may collect diagnostic and usage information, including:
Device model
Operating system version
App version
Crash reports
App interaction events
The App does not send your GPS location, Wi-Fi passwords, or personal information such as your name or email address to Firebase.
Firebase services are provided by Google. For more information about how Google processes data, please refer to the Google Privacy Policy.
The App does not display advertisements and does not use your data for advertising or ad personalization.
Where applicable, Firebase's collection of the Android Advertising ID is disabled.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for marketing purposes.
Other than the diagnostic and analytics data described above that is processed by Firebase, the App does not transmit or share your information with third parties.
The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
