I had similar situation where the network drivers and the hardware were fine (Device Manager listed all network adapters and Linux used the network just fine, but there was no network in Windows 10 and no Network Connections in network settings). My guess is that I had Cisco AnyConnect VPN installed in Windows 8.1 and then upgraded to Windows 10 where it all got messed up.Many users experienced that and there were many suggestions and none of them worked.

I just had the same issue. Drove me nuts. No connection options listed except Broadband and dial-up (what year is this??), with an Ethernet connection.I saw that a Windows Update had been installed this morning, about the time that the wifi crapped out. Did a system restore back to the update installation and voila---my wifi adapter was back.I knew it was something with the laptop because my tablets and phone wifi were both fine.

I have had same issues but got it resolved. Always turn off the wifi of PC/Laptop before shutdown. Whenever PC/Laptop is again started wifi adaptor will be available under network adaptor tab. Switch on Wifi and search for required wifi network.Hope this works for all.

So I bought a pc from ibuypower and realized too late only after connecting my monitor to the tower that I bought an ethernet connection-only motherboard with no wireless capabilities. I read that I can buy a USB wifi adapter for my pc, but my pc operates on Windows 11 (I chose Windows 11 when I customized my pc on ibuypower's website) and the only USB wifi adapter that the nearby Walmart sells is one whose system requirements goes up only to Windows 10 (NETGEAR AC1200 Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter). Will this adapter and any adapter that works only up to Windows 10 as advertised on Amazon be compatible with Windows 11? So if I were to plug in the Netgear USB adapter, would it work even though my pc is windows 11? The dell windows screen setup only goes as far as "finding network" with only ethernet listed and I'm hoping that plugging in the Netgear adapter will make wifi show up for me to continue on.

I dual booted Ubuntu 17.10 in my windows 10.While working in windows wifi works fine! But in Ubuntu it is always showing "No wifi adapter found, Make sure you have a wifi adapter plugged and turned on"Not getting any solutions online! Tried some of them but not working! Help please

I bought an A6150 WiFi adapter to connect my Windows 11 PC to a 5GHz WiFi network. I went through the recommended install procedure and everything was configured and working for a week or so. The street had a power failure while the PC was running, and after that, it could not see or connect to any 5GHz networks. Other devices in the house and the same adapter in a Windows 10 PC had no trouble, so it was related to the Windows 11 system.

Open the Network and Sharing Centre

On the left-hand menu, select Change adapter settings

This opens the Network Connections display

Right-click on the WiFi network and select Properties

This opens the WiFi Properties tab dialog

On the Networking tab, under Connect using, where the NETGEAR A6150 is mentioned, click Configure

This opens the NETGEAR A6150... Adapter Properties tab dialog

Select the Advanced tab **

In the Property list, click on Wireless Mode

In the Value box to the right, select IEEE 802 a/n/ac

Click OK to apply the value

If your computer comes with a built-in WiFi adapter but you need to use a new external WiFi adapter, you have to disable your built-in WiFi adapter first to prevent conflicts on your network connection. This article will show you how to disable the WiFi adapter on your Windows computer.

The wireless adapter isn't shown in device manager, it is like it is phisicly not there, so therefore there is nothing to install, or reinstall, the installation of new drivers after unpacking simply stops...

This isn't a request for help, I'm just documenting how I made my new USB wifi adapter work with Mobile hotspot on Windows 10. I mostly use these devices to create a hotspot at work for my phones to connect to the cabled Ethernet connection, and a full fledged router isn't an option, so I need the mobile hotspot function to work properly. However, during both my previous install (TL-WN725N) and this one (T4U v3) I encountered several hurdles before I could make them work. Perhaps others have the same problems and these points might help them troubleshoot.

Whenever I want to connect a wifi connection after moving my laptop Hamachi does everything it can to make me not be able to access internet at all. The only way I've been able to bybass it is if I restart my laptop and Disable the **bleep** HAMACHI Ethernet port albeit it wanting to use Hamachi for stuff this **bleep** is **bleep**ING annoying As hell.

I turned off the automatic startup for Hamachi, but when I turned my computer on yesterday I didn't have wifi at all. I checked my network adapters, nothing but Hamachi / Ethernet. My other computers in the house were working fine. So I tried to turn on Hamachi to see if it would help, tried resetting, nothing. Next I uninstalled it, restarted, still no wifi. Now my computer only had an ethernet adapter and no hamachi adapter. I did some more digging and went into my devices, it didn't show up there either until I found out it was hidden. Clicked properties, and got error 45 : "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)" ??????

Finally I decided to just uninstall the drivers through the device manager, and reinstall them...but it never showed up again since then. It's completely gone, not detected, not hidden anymore, completely vanished. Luckily I don't have a huge amount of things I needed to pull off my laptop, so I've got everything except my work program on an external drive, and plan to reformat in the next few days once I transfer that to my work computer. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this until then though I'm all ears...I've had nothing but trouble from this program, even when I used to use it years ago...this is the worst computer problem I've ever had though, praying it didn't completely fry my adapter somehow and everything just fixes itself on a full restore..

I have a freshly installed Windows 7 box (upgraded to Windows 10 to get the machine made eligible, now reinstalling). I have a cheap wifi dongle. I do not know the manufacturer, nor where the driver dvd is. Plugged into the machine running Linux, it just works. It is small, black, and has 802.11n printed on it in white writing, and there are no other identifying markers. (For reference, it looks a bit like one of these: -mini-usb-wifi-adapter-802-11-b-g-n-wi/250459680.html)

-us/windows/forum/all/remote-desktop-cant-get-connect-when-using-usb... Opens a new window refers to the same issue. Check that the firewalls are open for the connection. Can you ping between the two?

Problem with WIFI adapter that is always working perfectly fine when booting with Windows. I changed from Ubuntu to Fedora, thinking that the problem was the OS and after trying lots of commands, even installing again my wifi adapter card driver which was already recognized in Terminal (Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200). But realize that this step of downloading the driver was not necessary. Wifi was appearing again in settings after restarting and accessing Windows first, then restarting and going back to Fedora again, suddenly everything worked, so the driver is not the issue here. Linux is unable to recognize it for some weird reason and this is directly related to shutting down or restarting the PC.

If the Intel wireless adapter you are using is listed below, please upgrade your driver to Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software version = 20.70.0 (or higher version) to resolve the connectivity issues in 802.11ax routers.

However, I am unable to connect to wifi on the Mac Book when running Windows 8.1. The troubleshooter is unable to find any issues, and I have gone into settings to make sure that airplane mode is turned off.

I believe the problem may have something to do with my Network adapters. Following online instructions, I opened up the Device Manager and looked at my Network adapters. Supposedly, I should find a Broadcom wifi adapter here so I can update its drivers, but there is no such adapter in the list. Instead, I just see two Bluetooth Device adapters.

This is really confusing, because wifi works just fine when running OSx on the Mac Book. So I'm guessing I must have some kind of wifi adapter that Windows 8.1 can't seem to locate, or something along those lines.

So, my question is: what should I do if I do not see a wifi adapter in my device manager on Windows 8.1? Do I have the adapter, and it's just invisible because its drivers are out of date, or is there some other issue?

So, if anyone dual-boots Windows onto their Mac Book and can't seem to find the Broadcom wifi adapter in the device manager, don't worry! It isn't missing, it's just not showing up until you run the exe for the drivers it needs.

To reset your wireless adapter, which removes all its network settings, go to Settings > Network & Internet and choose Network reset > Reset Now. For a less drastic option, disable and re-enable the adapter instead: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Change adapter options and select Disable. Wait a minute, and then click Enable.

To boost your USB wireless adapter's signal strength, try a USB extension cable, which will let you position the adapter in the line of sight of the router. Also, move your computer closer to the wireless router, or consider upgrading your adapter to one with external antennas.

I believe my Windows 10 computer does not allow me to change my wi-fi MAC address (unlessI were to write my own firmware for the wi-fi adapter, but this would take lots of reverse-engineering on my part and is not practical), which seems to be the standard now. Iunderstand that the government and router-manufacturers might prefer this address to belocked, but is there any law pushing this preference to the adapter-manufacturers?
