Simon O'Cannon

Personality: 

Simon is a bit of a hothead, as he usually makes his decisions very quickly. He is loud, energetic and likes to talk, and if he can he will definitely try to convert whomever he meets. He believes himself to be very pious, though some may describe it more like he is zealous. 

Strengths & Abilities: 

• Silver touch: Simon can choose to transmute objects with a touch from his hands. This does not work on things that contain a soul, with the exception of himself. He can turn parts of himself silver without needing to use his hand.

• Spellcasring (blessings) : while not a professional spellcaster Simon was taught a specific branch of magic, blessings and became one of the top practitioners of this branch. Blessings are a form of magecraft focusing on the improvement of something and/or cleansing of evil. This type of magecraft is also what one must learn to create holy water. A downside of blessings is that they usually require a longer verbal incantation to activate but use less mana compared to other schools of magic.

• Highly dexterous: for a priest on the older side Simon is highly agile.

• Partial generation: while a part of Simon is silvered, wounds on that part will heal very quickly. But this regeneration is limited and can’t heal severe injuries like dismemberment or remove foreign objects like arrows or bullets.

• Due to a long career he can output more mana into his spells/blessings

• Weapons:

  • Holy gun: a single shot pistol specialized for a Heretic Hunter, with it being easily concealable and blessed by a high ranking priest with an enhancement blessing. The gun, while still just a single shot pistol, can be reloaded very quickly

  • Silver bullets: simon uses two types of silver bullets

  • Fine silver: essentially fine silver with only small traces of other material.

  • Witch silver: not as pure, as it contains poisonous metals.

  • Mana bullets, concentrated mana manifested in the form of a bullet, which not do much physical damage to the target but will do more spiritual damage. These are made from Simon's own mana, continued usage may lead to tiredness, headaches. if Simon’s mana is depleted there is a high chance of a heart attack.

  • Virtue bullets, 7 bullets that were manufactured by priests over the course of 1 year each to imbue it with one of the 7 virtues, to use one of these a separated prayer must be made before a bullet can be used: Bullet of Chastity, Bullet of Temperance, Bullet of Charity, Bullet of Diligence, Bullet of Kindness, Bullet of Patience, Bullet of Humility

  • A silver sword: it is a curved sword, made of silver. 

Weaknesses & Flaws: 

• As stated earlier, blessings take longer to be cast to be effective, making the caster having to concentrate more on it. 

• While silver parts are more durable then flesh or cloth, it is more susceptible to blunt damage. Silver is also a conductive metal for both electricity and heat and hence such types of damage are more effective. If a silvered body part is exposed to sulfur for a long period it will be tarnished then it will revert to normal and from then on that area can not be silver anymore

• Due to his long career he has a reduced mana capacity, making him need to rest up more and so that his effects won't last as long.

History/Summary: 

When Simon was 21 he joined the church’s Heretic Hunters, a reformed version of the inquisition. He was assigned to the Saint Division, a group that would later be crucial in several operations that would save the church. Simon has been successful on all his assignments except for one.

Practical Details (i.e. quirks, ways of speaking, etc.)

• Simon speaks archaically (aka he uses ”thou”, ”thy”, ”art” and so on). Though this speech quirk is not something he can’t help, no, he speaks like this because he feels more connected to the divine this way. He will only speak normally if either he has become very close to you or for special occasions.
