Welcome to our website! The goal of this conference is to enhance diversity within the field of international economics by providing a forum to present work and receive constructive feedback and mentorship. We hope the conference will also foster meaningful connections between junior and senior participants.
All faculty and researchers are welcome to attend.
The WIE Conference brings together economists working across international trade, international finance, and related fields to present and discuss their latest research. The conference seeks to broaden participation and strengthen mentorship within the field, with a particular emphasis on supporting early-career researchers. The presenting author of each paper must be a junior researcher*** in the field of international economics. Submitted papers may be co-authored with anyone regardless of seniority. Participation is open to all.
The conference will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue through Friday afternoon. The program will feature seven selected papers, with three presented on Thursday and four on Friday. Each paper will be assigned a dedicated discussant. Each session will last one hour: 45 minutes for the presentation, 10 minutes for the discussant’s remarks, and five minutes for open discussion. The program will also include a keynote lecture by Anusha Chari and a mentoring session that brings together senior economists, junior researchers, and graduate students.
