There is nothing wrong with some aspects of our kits or display to be anachronistic, but it is always better to be honest when discussing them. These situations may also be a good way to discuss how it would be if it were accurate.
We understand that sometimes it is difficult to get items that are perfect replicas. Sometimes there are modern items or items from other eras that resemble items from our time period. Sometimes these items fall under the 15 foot rule, where they look period enough from 15 feet away.
This may apply to clothing, where a piece of clothing or kit is more readily available in an ahistorical fabric. If it looks good enough, that is fine, so long as one is honest about it.
We don't dislike fantasy outfits for their own sake, but when part of WicSaga at an event, we try to minimize fantasy elements, with exceptions. We won't police subtle items, but might ask to minimize obvious ones.
