Overview: The purpose of this event is to support and encourage the beginning level string player. The one-day event is open to students completing their first .5 year to 2.5 years of study and who play violin, viola, cello or string bass.
Nomination: Students are nominated by their school orchestra teacher OR their private studio teacher. For the Wisconsin Rapids AND Hudson location there is no limit as to how many students can be nominated by each teacher. For the Mukwonago site, each teacher may nominate up to 8 students. For each location ALL teachers must nominate an equal number of first or second violin for each violinist nominated in order to ensure balanced ensembles. Should a teacher wish to nominate more than 8, please contact Julie Nolan at nolanjulie8@gmail.com for availability of space/instrumentation. Students who receive an application from their teacher must enroll directly on-line through UW-Whitewater Continuing Education.
