I’M WALKING! December 16 is the Petaluma Walk to End Alzheimer’s. I will be walking in honor of my mother and mother-in-law who both died from the disease. But I also walk for others I’ve known whose lives have been touched by dementia: those with the disease, family members, and caregivers. These stories are an inspiration to me as I am reminded of the resiliency within each of us and the huge capacity we have for empathy, love, and caring.
SEND ME YOUR STORY This year I started a simple website to honor the legacies of those who have lived with dementia. My hope is that you will send me YOUR STORY and a PHOTO that I can include on the site. (No donation is necessary.) What you write can be as short or as long as you like, or you can send something to add to a story that is already there. Just click on the photos to read the stories.
DONATIONS - MY GOAL - $20,000 I’m not very good at asking for money but this is a cause about which I am passionate. My dream is that a cure for Alzheimer’s and other dementias is found in my lifetime, and if not then, in my son’s lifetime. Click here to donate in honor of someone you know or have known and I will carry your heart and theirs with me when I walk on October 21st!
Please watch my 3 minute video story from last year about Why I Walk to End Alzheimers.
Thank you for your love and support!
