Prof. Seokjoo Shin (SMIEEE) received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Information and Communications, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea, in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He joined the Mobile Telecommunication Research Laboratory, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), South Korea, in 2002. In 2003, he joined the Faculty of Engineering, Chosun University, where he is currently a Full Professor with the Department of Computer Engineering. He spent 2009, as a Visiting Researcher with Georgia Tech, USA.
Currently, he serves as the Chairperson of Dept. of Computer Engineering, Chosun University, Vice President of KICS(The Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences) and KIISE(Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers), Senior Vice President of KingPC(Korean Institute of Next Generation Computing), Senior Vice President of Information & Communication Society of KIISE and Director of General Affairs of OSIA(Open Standards and ICT Association).
His research interests include wireless communication systems, AI for communication, privacy preserving machine learning, and network security and privacy.
