When I was a kid my father, a Subdistrict Administrative Organization deputy secretary, always encouraged me to study health science in college. Although I enjoyed high school biology and chemistry classes, I still have no idea when I have to choose a major when I go to college. I still remember taking an IELTS exam when I was in my last year of high school because I am planning to apply to universities via portfolio which included my IELTS exam score.
Now that I look back on my high school life I realize that I became more interested in political science and international relations during my last year in high school as I took more classes in these subjects. This led me to decide to apply to International Development program and that's when I learned more about international relations.
After I have read the introduction to the international relations course syllabus I realized that international relations is the "study of the relationships among states". with a variety of topics and there one I felt interested in was negotiation.
Since I occasionally talk because I'm a really shy person I thought that this would be a good opportunity to develop some communication skills and gain a new perspective on people's values and cultures which are very essential to effective communication.
This might be my big chance to expand my knowledge and learn valuable skills such as communication and problem-solving by engaging in the negotiation process and I will try my best to learn about it.
