Here it is worth mentioning that during the whole campaign we never failed a mission and lost only 1 crew member until the final part of the game when we lost 2 more. It was never during exploration or as the result of exploration, but because of some special rules. During the whole campaign we never lost morale (there may be one part where you have to lose morale, but if it was the case, we quickly recovered to high morale).

From our experience, Security is only good if there is a significant threat and even then, it usually could be avoided if you use a stealthy approach. If you have only Science and Recon and using Early warning equipment to not progress a time track, you are safe. Early in the campaign, Engineering was totally useless since many of its cards depend on a mission equipment token in the sector. However, later in the game it provided complete support.

The game received mixed reviews from critics, with praise towards the entertainment value of the campaign and multiplayer, and the graphics, but criticism for its writing, Zombies mode, and lack of innovation. It failed to meet the sales expectations of Activision.

Vanguard's campaign features similar gameplay mechanics previously introduced in Modern Warfare, such as the player being able to mount wielded weapons to flat surfaces, interact with doors and execute takedowns. New gameplay features allow the player the ability to use a more advanced tactical approach in combat such as blind firing from behind cover, breaking through destructible environmental elements or creating new paths to complete objectives by climbing walls.[9][10]

Vanguard's single-player campaign takes place in 1945 near the end of World War II's European theater, with various flashbacks ranging from 1941 to 1944. The story of Vanguard is told throughout various points in time in a non-chronological order. The flashbacks portray various major battles such as the North Africa Campaign, Eastern Front, Western Front and Pacific War through the eyes of the main protagonists. The game portrays the rise of special forces, with the first tasked to uncover a secret Nazi project and thwart it. The player takes control of various members of Task Force Vanguard, a team formed by the Special Operations Executive to uncover Phoenix, a secret Nazi project. Members include team leader British Army Lieutenant Arthur Kingsley (Chik Okonkwo), his right-hand man Richard Webb (Simon Quarterman), Red Army sniper Polina Petrova (Laura Bailey), U.S. Navy pilot Wade Jackson (Derek Phillips), Australian Army demolitionist Lucas Riggs (Martin Copping), and Milos Novak, a Yugoslav partisan fighter. Supporting characters appear in flashbacks, including British Army Corporal Thomas Jones (Max Deacon), Polina's brother Misha Petrov (Mark Ivanir), Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class Mateo Hernandez (Christopher Rivas), Private Desmond "Des" Wilmot (Nikolai Nikolaeff), and Robert Jacobs (Jack Hawkins). Opposing Task Force Vanguard is Project Phoenix, a secret Nazi project led by Untersturmfhrer Hermann Freisinger (Dan Donohue) aiming to take the party underground. Other antagonists include Hauptsturmfhrer Jannick Richter (Dominic Monaghan), the interrogator of Task Force Vanguard while they are captured, SS-Oberst-Gruppenfhrer Leo Steiner (Ray Proscia), the commander in charge of invading Stalingrad, and British Army Major Henry Hamms (James Frain), who frequently antagonizes the Australians in North Africa.

The multiplayer mode's seasonal story takes place after the campaign, across multiple eras, and features Captain Carver Butcher (Ron Bottitta), the founder of Task Force Vanguard, leading other special forces teams on covert missions to take down global operations. The final season of Vanguard, which is not canon to the seasonal story, features several villains from previous Call of Duty titles as playable characters: Raul Menendez (Kamar de los Reyes) from Black Ops II and Black Ops 4, Khaled Al-Asad (Michael Benyaer) from Modern Warfare (2019), He "Seraph" Zhen-Zhen (Judy Alice Lee) from Black Ops III and Black Ops 4, and Gabriel Rorke (Kevin Gage) from Ghosts.

During Activision Q1 earnings call in May 2021, it was confirmed that the development of a new Call of Duty game is being led by Sledgehammer Games due for release in Q4 2021. The developer also confirmed this on its official Twitter account. Activision Blizzard President and Chief Operating Officer Daniel Alegre said: "We are very excited for this year's premium Call of Duty release. Development is being led by Sledgehammer Games. And the game is looking great and on track for its fall release. This is a built-for-next-generation experience with stunning visuals across campaign, multiplayer and cooperative modes of play designed to both integrate with and enhance the existing COD [Call of Duty] ecosystem. We look forward to sharing more details with the community soon."[26]

On August 25, during Gamescom, Sledgehammer Games revealed the first extended playthrough of Vanguard's campaign missions set in the Eastern Front called "Stalingrad Summer". This mission gives an insight regarding the initial invasion of Stalingrad in 1942 from the perspective of Petrova (voiced by Laura Bailey) as she tries to find a way home after an aerial attack while eliminating hostile German infantry search crews.[9]

IGN's Simon Cardy awarded the game a 7 out of 10, summarizing their review by saying, "Call of Duty: Vanguard's highly polished campaign provides a healthy amount of fun, even if its brief length and lack of variety lead it to fall short of the classic pieces of war cinema it's trying to emulate."[58] Clement Goh of CGMagazine wrote that "Call of Duty: Vanguard falls in the predictable traps of an annual release, but pulls through with a fun campaign and multiplayer at the cost of duller Zombies", also giving the game a 7 out of 10.[59]

If you want to know the Call of Duty Vanguard campaign length and how long it takes to beat the story, we've got what you need. Call of Duty story campaigns can be a bit hit or miss, so you might want to know the sort of time commitment you'll face if you want to play through it - after all, some will want a short, punchy story, while others will want to get the most bang for their buck in length. Whatever your thought, we've got what you need to know about COD Vanguard's campaign length and how long it takes to beat Vanguard below. There's also a full mission list, letting you know how many missions there are to help you figure out how far through the campaign you are.

Call of Duty Vanguard's campaign length will vary depending on your own personal skill and the difficulty at which you play it, but we'll plant our flag and say it's roughly 5-7 hours for the vast majority of people to make it from the new game prompt to seeing the credits roll. This is a fairly standard campaign length for a modern Call of Duty game, which usually lean towards being short and punchy rather than extended military campaigns (so to speak).

I cant play Call of Duty Vanguard Campaign mode. It is showing as locked. The base game and campaign is showing as installed in Battle.net. I am playing on PC. I tried uninstalling and downloading again and I could play for sometime and then I quit and tried to resume gameplay today but there was an update and again it is locked. What could be the issue, could someone help me?

I was playing the campaign just fine after installing the full game for the first time. Then my PC restarted accidentally to install a windows update and then campaign was locked after i ran the game again after the restart. I tried to download additional language as explained above but no luck. Campaign is still locked, very frustrating.

Milestone II of Imagine: The Campaign for Vanguard University has resulted thus far in $23 million. As we continue to march toward meeting our goal of 500 dedicated, generous donors to help conclude this phase of Imagine, will you prayerfully consider investing in the Imagine campaign and be one of the 500?

So after playing a handfull senarios of Vanguard we finally decided to try out the campaign rules in the book. They seem really cool, picking elements from other games such as Mordheim etc and also introducing new thins such as the Retinue and the ability to promote you characters etc. Wont go into it here, rules can be found in the Vanguard core book.

So far its been really enjoyable!

The prelude to the campaign can be found HERE.

Call of Duty: Vanguard from a gameplay perspective feels like a mixture of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Call of Duty: WWII. With forty-plus different weapons, there are plenty of ways to deal with enemies. Blowing through the wooden planks of a train with a machine gun feels as good as anyone would expect it to. The destructible environments have always and continue to be one of the most satisfying parts of playing through the campaign. I played through the campaign on the default difficulty due to being strapped for time and not wanting to have to spend time replaying sections which led to me seeing one flaw that I probably would not have seen on the higher difficulties. The AI can be very rough at times. Like standing in front of an enemy and them taking ten seconds to open fire level of bad. This only happened on a handful of occasions, but I guess that is what I get for being a coward and not playing on veteran.

To solve this issue, you need to download the campaign chapters. This can be a separate download depending on your platform, and it's possible to access it by pressing the button mentioned on the bottom of the screen next to 'Start Install' (for us on PlayStation, this was the Square button).

Throughout the Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign, players learn the backstory of each member of the Vanguard group, with a vast majority of the missions serving as flashbacks to their roles during World War 2. This is a unique storytelling approach for the series; while Call of Duty has jumped between playable characters many times, the fact that most of the campaign is comprised of flashbacks is an interesting change. However, while this approach allows for several well-written characters, its main downside is that gamers do not see them together for very long. 2351a5e196
