NEWS! A new edition to Latin Club: our historical fiction reading group! This is an opportunity for Latin students interested in a different approach to classic context. Through historical novels, we may view the ancient world in a way similar to our own.
Our first book, to be started sometime soon, is Lavinia, by Ursula K. Le Guin. With more authors to come, like Renault, Graves, and Yourcenar, consider joining us!
And here's a good reason to come: snacks will be provided.
WHS Latin has been hard at work making cards for Halloween and Veteran's Day, and employing all our artistic abilities (which are admittedly uhhhh-).
Our posters across school have drawn the attention of even non-Latin students (barbari!), and Nero continues to insist that you endorse our club, and not certain caffeinated beverage chains which are in no way considered "local businesses". He will not say which, only that Latin Club takes precedence over your coffee cravings.
Calling all students! Classics Day form sign ups were due last Friday. If you are attending, please fill out and return your permission slips, and all your fees! All hands on deck for our skit - we will triumph!
