Donate To Special Olympics
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraising event benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. The annual intrastate relay and its various fundraising projects have two goals: to raise money and to gain awareness for the athletes who participate in Special Olympics Illinois. Approximately 3,000 officers representing every branch of law enforcement, including Officers from the Winthrop Harbor Police Department, will carry the Flame of Hope nearly 1,500 miles, running through thousands of Illinois communities to its final destination-the Opening Ceremonies of the Special Olympic Illinois Summer Games in Normal, Illinois.
The Winthrop Harbor Police Department supports and participates in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. This event raises funds and awareness for programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The Winthrop Harbor Police Department would like to thank everyone who has supported this cause in the past and ask for your continued support.
Donations can also be made in person at the Winthrop Harbor Police Department, 830 Sheridan Road Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096 or by mailing a check- made payable to Special Olympics Illinois. *Please reference "for Winthrop Harbor Police Department" in the memo of the check.
