LET’S START!
You will be assigned to a group (see the list of groups) collaborating with your international peers. Please check the list sent to you via email or in Canvas for group participants.
WHO WOMEN ARE: A CONTEXT IN THE ARTS explores common feminine gender topics using experimental, interdisciplinary, and transnational methods in the humanities. Through a visual depiction, you will be working creatively to advocate for women's visibility and better lives.
These are the topics (select one):
Cultural and social norms affecting women
Health disparities affecting women
Importance of education for women globally
Influence of women in music and pop culture
Women in leadership roles
Current challenges in women’s rights
Work-life balance for women
Women breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated sports
Role of women in religious institutions and traditions
Role of women in political activism
STEP 1: INTRODUCE YOURSELF_ ICEBREAKER
You will sign up to padlet.(free. version) and join our padlet platform 'Who women are: IDEAS & LAYOUTS' to introduce yourself and also upload your ideas.
STEP 2: COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR GROUP!
Nake sure to introduce yourself, communicate with your group and select a topic to start the research.
and bring all the updates to class ! Certain steps are required to also update on canvas (only for the fIU students).
STEP 3: WATCH THE VIDEOS
We invite you to check the videos below. You’ll discover that innumerable women artists have worked on gender equality topics, encouraging community transformation for the good of women and society. For other resources please visit the research page.

STEP 4: Oct. 10 until Oct.15- Upload all research to Canvas (FIU students will combine research and upload)
Research your topic of interest from different angles. Find out everything about your topic and engage in a discussion with your peers. Read related articles and share.
Identify conceptual artists working on the subject.
Write a brief paragraph stating your point of view and a possible creative direction. What is your creative direction sentence? How do you metaphorically express the idea? How do you plan to execute it?
Brainstorm ideas using semiotic techniques, typography, and imagery to create a visual solution.
Sketch ideas individually and share them with your peers for feedback. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO COLLABORATE, please schedule your Zoom meetings in advance. Document the process!! Create mp4s (upload to YouTube) with research and sketches- send all materials and YouTube links via Canvas (FIU students)

You must upload your work and documentation of the process by the assigned date.
1. Upload your finished work to the link provided. Name your folder, add a word page with your name and the name of the participants, and include a statement. Additionally, upload a self-reflection on the collaborative experience and learning process. All entries must be uploaded no later than Nov. 6
