A VOICE CALL RECORDING WHEN SENIOR HALL TUTOR (DR. MONICA MENSAH) CALLED THE JCR PRESIDENT CONCERNING THE RELEASING OF LETTER TO RESPOND THE ANONYMOUS PETITION.
This is the audio recording between the JCR President and the Senior Hall tutor (Dr. Monica Mensah) concerning the release of the response to the anonymous petition about some unfair treatment in the hall. The senior hall tutor called the JCR President to convince him to allow the JCR Secretary to release the letter after the JCR President indicated that the Secretary should not release the letter because the JCR President made it clear to the other executives that he, the JCR President, does not support the reasons behind the no visitors allowed by the Hall Management. Their reason was that the hall was in the middle of the university, which was why visitors were not allowed to enter Legon. In the audio recording, the senior Hall tutor made it clear to the JCR President that management did not propose any recommendations to the rest of the JCR executives, but they, the JCR executives, decided to give those responses to the anonymous letter in the absence of the JCR President. Therefore, the JCR President disagreed with it and insisted the General Secretary not to release that response until the right is done. However, the other executives went ahead to release the response, which made the JCR President also release a disclaimer to exclude himself from that explanation in the letter released by the Secretary and promised to resident to calm down whiles the issues will be addressed soon to allow visitors into the hall.
This was the chat when the JCR President saw the letter prepared by the general secretary (Precious KedJei) after a meeting with the Hall Management, Dr. AtoYankson and Dr. Monica. The JCR President rejected it because the JCR President made it clear to the other executives that he does not support the reasons in the letter, but the general secretary disregarded the JCR President's orders and still went ahead to release that letter to the resident because she claimed the hall management was putting pressure on her to release the letter.
The general secretary informed the hall manager that the JCR President had reJected the letter, so the senior hall tutor called the JCR President to convince him to allow the letter to be released. The Secretary made it known to the JCR President that the senior hall tutor(Dr. Monica Mensah) had said if the JCR President is ok with the letter, the JCR President should release a disclaimer.
This is chat from the Senior Hall Tutor when the JCR President (Justice Atta Sarfo) released a disclaimer to exclude himself from the letter that was being released by the secretary after disregarding the JCR President orders. The senior hall tutor forwarded the disclaimer to the JCR platform, which she, the senior hall tutor, was on, and the senior hall tutor questioned the JCR president if the JCR president was the one who truly released that disclaimer, and the JCR president confirmed that he was the one who released it because he, the JCR president, does not support the reasons in the letter released by the general secretary.
The above chats are few responses from the residents bitterly complaining when the General Secretary released a letter in response to the anonymous petition.
This is when the Legon JCR executives visited the Speaker of Ghana Parliament (Rt. Hon. Bagbin) to channel the JCR challenges, including chairs, water crisis, washing bay, etc., for his assistance. No one received any amount from the Speaker, and I did not go there alone, but later on, I was accused by the Hall management that I, JCR President, had gone there for money.
This is when the Legon JCR executives visited the Ayawaso west member of Parliament (Hon. Lydia Alhassan) to channel the JCR challenges, including chairs, water crisis, washing bay, etc., for his assistance. No one received any amount from the Maa Lydia, and I did not go there alone, but later on, I was accused by the Hall management that I, JCR President, had gone there for money.
This is when the sponsor committee (Paa Kwasi and Gideon Ofori) asked myself and the vice president to accompany them when they were going to one of the Legon Hall alumni.
This was the first time I went outside the committee in their sponsorship drive. This is the same place the committee received the check of 12,650 ghc, which was presented to the senior hall tutor.
This evidence is to disclaim the accusations by the senior hall tutor that I have disregarded my executives and have involved unknown people in my administration. This is to prove that all those places I went to channel the hall issues were done together with my executives. And no one received any amount of money, and if they feel I have defrauded the hall, they can engage with these individuals for any information.
I GAVE MY ALL TO SERVE MY PEOPLE, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT EASY, ESPECIALLY DEALING WITH THIS CROP OF MANAGEMENT (DR. ATO YANKSON AND DR. MONICA MENSAH). I FACED A LOT OF CHALLENGES, WHICH COULD NOT PERMIT ME TO EXECUTE MY PLANS I HAD FOR THE JCR MEMBERS AND THE HALL AT LARGE.
I faced financial difficulties because I decided to stay on campus during vacations, mental problems, depression, anxieties, and poor academic performance due to those challenges.
Always appreciate the little efforts of your leaders because you don't know what they also go through trying to defend the members.
