Our story this week is about Cinco de Mayo. It is important to learn about different cultures and customs. I hope you enjoy learning about Cinco de Mayo, which is a holiday celebrated each year on May 5th. After you have read the story, you will be drawing a picture of one of the ways that people celebrate the holiday.

This week, we celebrate Earth Day. In honor of Earth Day, we'll be reading a book about animals called Animals in Camouflage by Phyllis Umbacher Tildes. While you read this book, consider: Why do animals camouflage themselves? Which way was your favorite? Why?
