Join the WEF and help us plan events for the 2026-2027 school year! Our next meeting is Wednesday, November 4.
Upcoming events include:
Whitman Family Night - San Diego Wave FC: Sunday, October 25 (ticket sales for the group block have closed, but email us if you want to find tickets nearby)
Día de Muertos Ofrenda: Set up begins Wednesday, October 14 - you can add photos and items through the month!
Trunk or Treat: Friday, October 30 (sign up to have a trunk here: link)
Best Pizza & Brew Fundraiser: Tuesday, November 10
Winter Movie Night: Friday, December 4
Whitman Family Night - San Diego Gulls: Saturday, January 30
Ongoing events and initiatives:
Run club - join Whitman families, students, and staff every Tues-Fri from 7:30-7:50 for laps around the track!
Field trips - providing buses for all of our students to attend field trips throughout the year.
T-shirt sales - ask in the front office if you would like to purchase a blue Whitman shirt (adult and child sizes available). Purchases support the Foundation!

Whitman Whales for San Diego Wave FC!
The SD Wave FC are in second place in the NWSL and have CLINCHED a spot in the playoffs! Join in the excitement at their last home game, October 25! Ticket sales have closed. If you would still like to join, email us to try to get seats nearby!
Come join the Whitman section and see Ms. Martinez, Jordyn, and Leo on the pitch! They will be holding the shield center pitch before the game, and Whitman will get a special shoutout on the Jumbotron!

Please contribute to Whitman's Día de Muertos ofrenda! We will set it up on Monday, October 26 after the Shining Star Assembly, but you can contribute throughout the week and in many different ways - check out the flyer for more details!

On Valentines Day, students channeled their creativity into making friendship bracelets for each other, with students paired across different age groups to encourage new friendships.

Sage Garden Project
Every student at Whitman Elementary takes cooking and gardening classes each week through the Sage Garden Project. From TK to grade 5, this program is a highlight for students.

In 2025 we hosted our first outdoor movie night for the community. We look forward to more of these next year.
Running Club
Running Club
Most mornings, the Whitman community begins the day by walking or running laps around the joint use field, and kids can win prizes as they reach lap number milestones! Lap trackers were purchased by WEF.

Monthly Fundraisers at Local Restaurants
On the second Wednesday of each month, Whitman supporters can visit local restaurants, with a portion of the proceeds going to WEF.
