The Whitman County Democrats are committed to free and fair elections.
In that spirit, we have decided to publish on our website and social media the candidate statements of all candidates whose statements were NOT published in the official voter's pamphlet, and who can show evidence that their statements were submitted on time for publication. By all candidates, we mean all candidates of any political persuasion who are running on any ballot within the county. Towards that end, we present the following statement by candidate Ben Emerson whose ballot did not get published though he submitted it in time for publication. We ask that you disperse this information widely to ensure that this candidate gets a chance for his voice to be heard in a free and fair election.
There may be other emails of other candidates as they get back to us. This courtesy is only to the candidates that turned their information in on time and received an acceptance reply. We are communicating with the county and the state as to how it happened and where it went sideways. We will be discussing this at our next monthly meeting.
Please direct any questions to palouseareademocrats@gmail.com.
I appreciate your patience with this as we continue to communicate with the parties involved.
Please share with all your contacts who vote in the Pullman School District.
Thank you,
Deb McNeil
Chairperson, Whitman County Democrats
