Your photos are never stored or collected by me.
There are zero ads or ad trackers.
Your data is never sold or monetized.
There are no unnecessary app permissions.

Data Collection:
The app collects limited, anonymized data to support purchases, crash reporting, and optional cloud features.

In-App Purchases: Used to unlock features you've paid for, restore purchases if needed, and collect anonymous analytics.
Accurate Text Detection (Optional): Whiteout offers two text-detection modes. Fast mode runs entirely on your device — your image never leaves your phone. When you choose Accurate mode, the photo or document you are working on is securely sent to Microsoft Azure's document-analysis service to locate the text in it. These images may contain sensitive content — that's what a redaction app is for — so they are used only to detect text and return word positions, are not stored beyond what is needed to process the request, are not linked to your identity, are not used for tracking, and are not used to train any AI model. If you stay in Fast mode, this content stays on your device.
Text You Type (Support Chat): Messages you type into the optional in-app support chat are securely routed through AIProxy and sent to OpenAI, only to generate a reply. Not stored by me, not linked to your identity, and not used for tracking. Please don't enter anything into the chat you would not want transmitted for processing.
Crash & Performance Data: If the app crashes, an anonymized crash report (device model, OS version, and what the app was doing) is collected so I can fix bugs. No photos or document content are ever included in crash reports.
Usage Data: Anonymous app-usage events (like which screens are opened) help me understand which features matter. Not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.
Device ID: An anonymous identifier supports the analytics and purchase services above. Not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.

Data Sharing:
Anonymous data is shared with the following trusted third-party services to provide and improve app functionality. None of the data is linked to your identity or used for tracking purposes. You can review their privacy policies for more details.

Microsoft Azure — processes images you submit in Accurate mode, only to detect text and return its location. Microsoft Privacy Statement
Google Firebase (Crashlytics & Analytics) — processes anonymous crash reports and usage events. Firebase Privacy

App Permissions:
This app only requests permission to save images to your photo library. Photos you pick are selected through Apple's private picker, and outside of the optional Accurate mode described above, your media is never uploaded, stored, or shared.
