What is District Project Achievement (DPA)?
DPA is one of Georgia 4-H's core programs offered to youth in 5th-12th grade. DPA teaches youth how to formulate a speech and presentation to talk about anything they wish! Public speaking builds essential life skills for youth, like confidence, critical thinking, and clear communication, which are valuable in school, career, and daily life. For DPA, students can choose either Google Slides or poster to use as their presentation style to aid their speech.
Student steps to prepare for DPA:
Select a topic from the project list below
Start a Google doc to begin working on your speech
Speech includes an introduction, body paragraph with about 3 main points on your topic, then finish with a conclusion
Once speech is complete, you can start working on your Google Slides or poster presentation to go along with your speech
See a craft project presentation example by clicking on the video on the left!
When do DPA projects need to be completed?
Students will present their DPA presentations during our November 4-H meetings the second week of November. Speeches and presentations should be completed by this time. After the in-class presentations, your child may be invited to compete in their project against other counties at the District contest in Union County on December 6th. More information to come.
Cloverleaf 4-H'ers (4th-6th grade) can choose any topic from this list for their DPA speech and presentation

Workshops are where students can receive help from 4-H leaders on their projects. Please let Ms. Rachel or Ms. Kinsey know if your child will be attending a workshop so we have a proper headcount. Students can attend as many as they'd like to receive help, but students are also encouraged to work on their project at home if able.
Remember, students will present their DPA projects during our November 4-H meeting held the second week of November.
This is an example outline students can follow to get a better idea of how their Google Slides presentation can flow. Students can do more than 7 slides if they choose.
It's important to make your Google Slides easy to read and follow along. Not too crowded with pictures, etc. See examples above.
