Did you know White Cane Day has been observed annually on October 15th since 1964? It is a day to raise awareness about the importance of the white cane, which is an essential tool for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Let's show our support and celebrate their strength and resilience!
The committee partners with Tarrant County cities to raise white cane awareness, highlight related laws, and address community barriers. Above is a photo of the Mayor of White Settlement presenting the proclamation to members of the 2024 White Cane Day of North Texas Planning Committee.
In 2024, White Cane Day of North Texas collaborated with White Settlement’s educators for the visually impaired, the mayor, and the city to host the area's first White Settlement White Cane Day.
