Hi there, @Nankivell! A solid white light on the front of your battery-powered Video Doorbell is usually a sign of idle mode when hardwired. To emphasize, this should only occur when the Doorbell is hardwired. As you mentioned this Doorbell is not hardwired, try performing a reset by holding the Doorbell setup button for 20 seconds. Once reconnected, remove the charging cable and trigger an event on your Video Doorbell to see if this light turns off. Feel free to let us know how this goes!

Hi @user34247. Are you pressing the Setup Button? What specific model doorbell do you have? What is the voltage rating on your transformer? Is there a chime kit connected? Thanks for this information.

Hi, the white light on the door bell when its hardwired if causing too much attention to the door bell. It makes people think in buildings that it is constantly recording and acting as a constant cctv.

Agreed, same problem here. Drunks during the night, kids going home after school in the evening, all push the button. I consider it a design flaw that it is not possible to disable the glowing white light on the wired doorbell. Please create a firware update to enable switching this off.

Very frustrated. Purchased system yesterday updated firmware on router and satelitte was lost. Did hard resets and factory resets. Now the router just sitsd with white ring and satelitte has a blue ring. They are constantly on.

Sounds like hard reset and resetting to factory settings are the same thing. So I did another hard reset on the router. The ring light came up pulsing white for 5 seconds or so and then went solid white again. And there it's stayed for the last three hours or so. I'll leave it alone until tomorrow just on the chance the reset is really really slow.

But is is suspect the unit is bad now and it's not going to work without some some of intervention. I've had it for a year or so so it's probably out of warranty. I'll try tech support. It was an expensive system! Hope I'm not just out of luck here.

I was able to get ahold of tech support as my orbi is still under warranty (Ive had it for just under a year so I squeeked by!). I had to wait on hold a LONG time but finally got a knowledgeable support person who worked with me to resolve the issue.

As it turns out, I may not have held the reset pin in place long enough. Support had me hold it there for a full minute! Then, the ring light was still solid white, but we ignored that and were able to login and configure the router and the salletlite with no trouble. Eventually the solid white ring light went off, but after we'd configured the sattelite.

Included with the Newell RL-18A LED ring light you will find a handy remote control, equipped with a pin that allows you to hang it on a lanyard or clip it to your keys. With its help, you can conveniently adjust the power and color temperature without having to constantly walk up to the light source. And since the Newell RL-18A can operate on independent channels, one remote control will give you control over 3 such lamps!

The set includes an expandable light stand that allows you to set the lamp in the right position and quickly change its position if necessary. Another advantage is the height adjustment, which will improve the pace of work, when photographing people of different heights or objects of varying sizes.

Installed the RBK53 setup in my house about a year ago and recently i notices some strange internet issues. It showed i had full signal but in one area of the house we were getting no or limited data going through. I checked the Orbi satellite thats close to that area and the ring up top is stuck solid white. I looked it up and it means it's in boot up mode. I tried powering it on/off, holding the reset button on the back with a paperclick but nothign works. The power led on the back stays green and the ring up top stays solid white.

So for Netgear is really impressing me......with their cash model. Create a user based support group that end users can help each other for free (which is great... for us and them) but when it comes to company tech support your SOL after 90 days... 90 days, I spent almost $400 on an Orbi setup because my Linksys Nighthawk crapped the bed after 6 months, hoping ORBI was the answer... and now the same stuff is happening.

Good news though, I got a Netgear Community Badge for making my post! This will make my mom proud and really get that Orbi satellite up and running... I had to inject a bit of humor in this post so i don't sound like I'm just ranting.

Silly, but I use it for monitor cleaning. It makes things on the screen obvious. :) I also use it to validate plain colour reproduction for different monitors, but that only comes up rarely and I'm not looking for professional colour grading.

I'm working on a animated sequence, and i'm doing it the traditional way (by hand), so i need a white surface with light that allows me to put one piece of paper over another and be able to see both, so since i don't have a professional screen for this, i'm using my computer and putting the white screen on it so i don't touch anything by mistake

While studying, I use 2 screens, one with a timer and one to search whatever I need on the internet. When I am not searching, I put the white screen so I don't get distracted with anything on the computer

Useful when adjusting settings in my secondary monitor (since it's quite old it doesn't just set stuff how it should be by default). Settings like vertical/horizontal position and vertical/horizontal scale. Also useful when searching for dead pixels.

I'm still really new to film so I hope someone can help me. I recently developed my 35mm film from a point and shoot olympus camera, and some of the photos came out with a roundish white border - one or two had the whole white ring but most just had part of it (at the lower corners, usually). It's really puzzling me because there were a couple that were totally clean and fine. Any possible explanations to this would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the problem is with the camera lens as the camera is carried in a case and removed when a photo is taken. In effect, the camera is not in ambient light while being transported so the contrast is good as there is no fogging.

The camera appears to produce varying amounts of internal reflection. As the camera operates normally otherwise, I suspect the zoom lens has greater and lesser glare as the zoom is extended and retracted.

The problem is most likely with the zoom lens which is more pronounced when the lens zoom in certain positions due to something (or something missing) in the extended sleeves of the zoom. Try different positions for the zoom and for the light source. There might be a faulty or displaced light baffle for the lens extensions. It (the problem) introduces axial non-imaging flare into the image area. The effect happens only during the exposure so the problem is between the shutter and the film.

My guess would be that there is a problem with the light seal at the lens barrel. You state that some images are perfectly fine while others aren't. Now EXIF data would be great for sleuthing but we are talking about film, and few people keep meticulous notes. Here are a few things you could be looking for:

The camera has been out of the case for a longer time without making a photograph. When there are several photographs in succession, only the first shows the ring. If that is what you see, it is likely a comparatively small light leak that is present even when the camera is off.

Looking again at the examples, you appear to be using different zoom ratios but the circle is identical each time. That means that the light leak is not in a part of the lens affected by zooming. So if the lens has multiple segments that move, the leak likely is in the fixed part or at the transition from the fixed part to the first moving segment.

Another possibility is that a part intended to block light (a fixed aperture) has broken or gotten loose inside of the lens. If that is the case, it shouldn't matter how long the camera is kept in light without making a photograph: the amount of deletion should be proportional to the exposure you are having rather than the environment the camera is in when unused.

This can happen if the wrong lens is attached to the camera, or if there is some kind of mechanical problem with the lens which is causing it to be too close to the sensor. For example, if you stored the camera in a back pocket and sat on it or put it under a stack of books and the frame got bent, then the lens could be too close to the sensor. I suspect that you smooshed your camera.

Inspiron 24-5477 I purchased this AIO PC two weeks ago and this morning I woke to a bright white ring around the monitor and the screen looked fuzzy and was not a stable picture. As the morning went on it has slowly faded to a light burnt orange I to which can only be seen when the screen is a darker or black background (such as using the Windows START button bottom left hand corner).

I purchased from best buy - I am just concerned that it could be something wrong with this PC and it will be out of Best Buy return window. Plus I threw away box and not sure if that will cause problems.

Thanks for your prompt reply and suggestions. Since my Dell was still under warranty I called Dell Support and the process you reference in your link was exactly what the support tech did to my computer. After waiting 2 hours for the last firmware update to run, I rebooted and the problem was fixed. 152ee80cbc
