Generative AI Use Declaration

I acknowledge the assistance of generative AI in the production of some elements on this site.  AI was used as an assistant, and the output required amending to fully suit the project's purpose and learning intentions. The final product of this story is a combination of human author (Tracey Sloan), with AI assistance for image generation, planning ideas and comparisons of suitable tools, and voiceover creation. All words by Tracey Sloan; videos were edited manually in Canva; and the site design and artefacts were compiled manually by Tracey Sloan.

Tool 1:

I acknowledge the use of Gemini to generate the images of the forest, Red, Wolf, Grandma, and the Huntsman. 

The prompts included:

"Create an image of an eerie forest, from a fairytale story, like Hansel and Gretel."

"Generate an image of Little Red Riding Hood. Like a teenager."

"Yes. One of grandma now. looking sketchy."

"Now, generate an image of a letter nailed to one of the trees. Remove the Wolf and the house."

The images were used throughout this site.

Tool 2: ChatGPT

I acknowledge the use of ChatGPT to generate the ideas, story maps and plans for this project. The prompts used included:

"Can you mock up an overview of how a Google Sites home page could work for this twisted fairytale project, with links to multiple themed pages that show how text, poetry, audio, images, and non-fiction can be combined?"

Outputs included planning such as this:

The prompts were used as inspiration of ideas, which were further amended and adapted by Tracey Sloan to suit the purposes of the project and storyline.

"How can we make the Google Sites platform work for these non-linear branching stories?"

Output included:

"You can absolutely make Google Sites work for non-linear, branching digital stories, though it requires some creative structuring since Google Sites doesn’t have built-in branching functionality like Twine. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Structure the Story as Multiple Pages

Each “node” or story segment becomes a separate page on the site.

Example:

Episode 1 – “Red Hood enters the forest”

Episode 2a – “She follows the neon path”

Episode 2b – “She takes the shadow trail”

2. Use Hyperlinks as Choice Buttons

At the end of each page, provide clickable buttons or text links for choices.

Example:

Button 1: “Follow the neon path → Episode 2a”

Button 2: “Take the shadow trail → Episode 2b”

This creates the branching structure: each choice directs the reader to the next page.

I acknowledge the use of Acoust to generate the voiceovers.

Prompts:

The software was given the full script, written by me. It then asked me to select a suitable voice and mood effect (e.g. whispering). I then exported it as an audio file and uploaded it to Canva to use while I was editing the videos.
