Whisperly Privacy Policy
Whisperly Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 2, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Personal Data is collected, used, and disclosed when you use the Whisperly mobile application, website, and related services (the “Services”).
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy and confirm that you are over 18 years of age (or have had your parent or guardian read and agree to this Privacy Policy for you). If you do not agree or are unable to make this promise, you must not use the Services. In such cases, you must delete the App from your device.
Please read the Privacy Policy below to learn more about what we do with your data, your data privacy rights, who will be the data controller, and how to influence personalized advertising. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@knowvidapp.com.
“GDPR” means the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
“EEA” includes all current member states to the European Union and the European Economic Area. For the purpose of this policy EEA shall include the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
“Process”, in respect of personal data, includes to collect, store, and disclose to others.
1. Categories of Personal Data We Collect
We collect data you voluntarily provide (such as when you enter your sleep preferences, name, email).
We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about the categories of personal data we collect. This section outlines the various types of data we gather:
1.1 Data You Provide
When you register for and use our Services, you provide us with personal information voluntarily. This may include details such as your sleep goals and preferences (e.g., target bedtime and wake time, preferred sounds or meditation themes), name (if provided), and email address. You may also share information when you contact support or provide feedback.
1.2 Data Collected Automatically
We automatically collect from your device language settings, IP address, time zone, type and model of a device, device settings, operating system, Internet service provider, mobile carrier, hardware ID, and other unique identifiers (such as IDFA). We also collect app usage data (session length, screens viewed), diagnostics, and crash logs. We need this data to provide our Services, analyze how our customers use the Service, and where permitted, to serve and measure ads.
1.3 Sleep Tracking Signals (for “sleep track” features)
With your permission, we may process non-content signals used to infer sleep/wake patterns (for example, motion/accelerometer activity, screen state, and optional microphone audio level metrics—not speech content). You can disable such permissions at any time in your device settings.
2. For what purposes we process your personal data
We process your personal data:
2.1 To provide our Services
This includes enabling you to use the Services in a seamless manner (sleep tracking, reports, sounds library, meditation) and preventing or addressing Services errors or technical issues.
2.2 To customize your experience
We process your personal data, such as sleep preferences, to adjust the content of the Services and make recommendations tailored to your personal preferences (e.g., suggested sounds/meditation or bedtime routines).
2.3 To research and analyze your use of the Services
This helps us to better understand our business, analyze our operations, maintain, improve, innovate, plan, design, and develop the Services and our new products. We also use such data for statistical analysis, to test and improve our offers (for example, which sound categories users engage with most).
2.4 To send you marketing communications
We process your personal data for our marketing campaigns. We may add your email address to our marketing list. As a result, you may receive information about our products, such as special offers. If you do not want to receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe by following the instructions in the footer of the marketing emails.
2.5 To enforce our Terms and Conditions of Use and to prevent and combat fraud
We use personal data to enforce our agreements and contractual commitments, to detect, prevent, and combat fraud. As a result of such processing, we may share your information with others, including law enforcement agencies (in particular, if a dispute arises in connection with our Terms and Conditions of Use).
2.6 To comply with legal obligations
We may process, use, or share your data when the law requires it, in particular, if a law enforcement agency requests your data by available legal means.
Under what legal bases we process your personal data (applies only to EEA-based users)
In this section, we are letting you know what legal basis we use for each particular purpose of processing. For more information on a particular purpose, please refer to Section 2. This section applies only to EEA-based users.
3. We process your personal data under the following legal bases.
3.1 Your Explicit Consent
We may use your data for sending marketing emails and, where required, for personalized advertising and certain device permissions (e.g., microphone audio-level metrics) under this legal basis. Your consent is crucial, and you have the right to revoke it at any time. To do so, simply click on the unsubscribe link located in the footer of our marketing emails or adjust permissions in your device settings.
3.2 Fulfilling our Contractual Obligations
We process your data under this legal basis to:
Provide our Services, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions of Use.
Personalize your experience with our Services.
Manage your account and offer you dedicated customer support.
Maintain open communication with you regarding your use of our Services.
Process your payments efficiently (for subscriptions, where applicable).
3.3 Legitimate interests, unless those interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms that require protection of personal data
We rely on legitimate interests:
to communicate with you regarding your use of our Services
This includes, for example, sending you reminders that support healthy sleep routines. The legitimate interest we rely on for this purpose is our interest to encourage you to use our Services more often, with potential benefits to your sleep awareness.
to research and analyze your use of the Services
Our legitimate interest for this purpose is improving our Services so that we understand users’ preferences and are able to provide you with a better experience (for example, to make the app easier to use or to introduce and test new features).

The legitimate interest we rely on for this processing is our interest to promote our Services in a measured and appropriate way.
to personalize our ads (where permitted)
The legitimate interest we rely on for this processing is our interest to promote our Services in a reasonably targeted way.

4. Sharing of Your Personal Data
We value your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your personal data. This section outlines with whom we may share your information and the purposes for which it is shared.
4.1 Compliance with Legal Authorities
In certain situations, we may be required to use and disclose personal data to uphold our Terms and Conditions of Use, safeguard our rights, privacy, safety, or property, as well as those of our affiliates, you, or other individuals. This includes responding to requests from courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and other public and government authorities, as well as situations mandated by law.
4.2 In Corporate Transactions
As our business evolves, we may engage in asset transactions, such as acquisitions or sales. Customer information is typically one of the assets transferred during such transactions. We may also share this information with affiliated entities, such as parent companies or subsidiaries. Furthermore, in the course of corporate transactions, such as the sale of our business, divestitures, mergers, consolidations, asset sales, or, in rare instances, bankruptcy, your information may be transferred.

Accessing/reviewing/updating/correcting your personal data. You may review, edit, or change the personal data that you had previously provided on the Services.
Deleting your personal data. You can request erasure of your personal data as permitted by law. When you request deletion of your personal data, we will use reasonable efforts to honor your request. In some cases, we may be legally required to keep some of the data for a certain time; in such event, we will fulfill your request after we have complied with our obligations.
Objecting to or restricting the use of your personal data. You can ask us to stop using all or some of your personal data or limit our use thereof.
Additional information for EEA-based users:
If you are based in the EEA, you have the following rights in addition to the above:
The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in particular in the EU Member State where you reside, work, or where the alleged infringement took place).
The right to data portability. If you wish to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format, you can send the respective request to us as described below.
To exercise any of your privacy rights, please send a request to support@knowvidapp.com.

We may transfer personal data to countries other than the country in which the data was originally collected in order to provide the Services set forth in the Terms and Conditions of Use and for purposes indicated in this Privacy Policy. If these countries do not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information, we deploy special safeguards where required by law.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our privacy practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through our Services. We encourage you to review this privacy policy regularly for the latest information on our privacy practices.
9. Data retention
We will store your personal data for as long as it is reasonably necessary for achieving the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy (including providing the Services to you), which includes (but is not limited to) the period during which you have an account with the Services.
