Whiskey Business is a dynamic 5-piece band jamming covers and originals at Minnesota events and establishments since 2017. Forming in the Perham area, Whiskey Business plays an entertaining and spontaneous variety of music from nearly every decade and genre which includes rock, country, and even pop.

Whiskey Business started as an acoustic 3-piece in the heart of the lakes. The Babler brothers Sam and Rich acquired Katie Baker (all Perham graduates), and they set to combining their talents to cover rock music they all loved and create new music of their own originality. After some time, Mark Baker joined the crew with exceptional, classic percussion; Jesse Lee Kenyon brought new dynamics and sound with electric guitar; and James Hersch filled in the blanks with a fun array of thick and funky bass. Now, you can catch members of Whiskey Business at establishments all the way from The Woodtick Lounge in Hewitt to The Rusty Nail in Battle Lake to 1894 in Perham as solo musicians, a dynamic duo, a catchy 3-piece, or the full giant sound of the 5-piece range.

The Original Whiskey Business:

Sam Babler

Head man, musical beast, and founding father of Whiskey Business, Sam gets his influences from Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Shinedown, Linkin Park, and, of course, various movie soundtracks. His talent escalated dramatically during his many years with the band Border Patrol. Now, as lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist, Sam's powerful, fierce voice and groovy shreds please audiences all over Ottertail and Becker county.

Katie Baker

After familiarizing herself with a plethora of instruments, Katie fell hard for the guitar sound. With lyrics to accompany the strings, her solo performances grew in college, and she formed a band named Barricade. With fellow musicians to accompany her in Barricade and a myriad of family members for support, this OTC native's voice and dynamics became one that "sends chills" that captures music-lovers' hearts in Minnesota.
