How to Update Your Audi MMI to Version 5570

If you own an Audi A4 or A5 with MMI high 2. Generation (ONLY MMI 2G / NOT SUITABLE FOR MMI 3G), you may want to update your MMI software to the latest version 5570. This update will bring you many new features and improvements, such as:

Audi Parking System Plus can be retrofitted (Audible and graphic display of the screen)

DSP allows higher volume

Navi Announcements can be turned off during call

Volume of the background music during navigation announcements can be set

Height information can be displayed in the Navigation map

Route can be followed on the chart via the MMI control

To update your MMI, you will need three CDs with the following part number: 8K0 998 961. You can order them from your Audi dealer or download them from online sources (at your own risk). The update process is as follows:

Insert CD 1/3 into your CD player and wait for the MMI to recognize it.

Select "Setup MMI" from the main menu and then "Software Update". Follow the instructions on the screen.

The update will take about 30 minutes and will update all the MMI control units to version 5150. During the update, you may get an error message that the CD player cannot be read. This is normal and you can ignore it.

When the update is finished, eject CD 1/3 and insert CD 2/3. This CD will update your Bluetooth module and applications. The update will take about 15 minutes.

When the update is finished, eject CD 2/3 and insert CD 3/3. This CD will update your Amp (inc DSP and B&O), TV, MP3, MMI main app and Tuner. The update will take about 10 minutes.

When the update is finished, eject CD 3/3 and restart your MMI by pressing and holding the SETUP, RETURN and NAV buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.

To check if your update was successful, go to "Setup MMI" and then "Version Information". You should see version 5570 for all the components.
