These popular outdoor sandals were both born out of necessity. In the 1980s, two river guides, one in Arizona and the other in Colorado, needed comfortable footwear solutions that would keep their shoes on their feet and prevent their feet from wrinkling into prunes every day.

Hi Hattie! We have asked many locals / tour companies and have gone into many shop in Quepos with no luck. I remember way back when I was in Arenal that they did sell them (most of our guides were wearing them) but I can't be certain. At this point, I'm not picky. Our driver picks us up from MA to Arenal tomorrow and I'd like to see if there is a store in La Fortuna that I may be able to buy shoes from.
