I am trying to allocate a specific ringtone to my wifes contact in my samsung a54 so that i know immediately it is her ringing me. BUT. all of the advice i have found on goggle or watched in videos explains a process of how to do it BUT the procedure they talk about cannot be followed on my phone !!!! I call up my wife's contact on my phone , press the "i" button and then the contact opens up.. At the bottom of the screen i press the 3 little dots and click on "Edit default Contact" and then scroll all the way down but there is no option to change the ringtone. Everywhere i have looked so far gives me the same procedure to change the ring tone , but that procedure does not work on my phone. When I plug my old phone into my computer and go to This PC\KYOCERA\Internal storage\media\audio\ringtones like I have been told to go to for the default ringtones, the only ones that show up are a couple of custom ringtones I had put on previously. I finally resolved issue regarding alert ringtones. My alert tones were on phone. Just unable to get them on Ring app. 1) Internal storage . 2)Ringtones 3)Ring 4) audio. Copie any or all of the ring tones. Then move them to notifications folder back from the internal storage you started from. Than check your ring app. They should appear there. If not reinstall Ring app. Good luck folks. This drive me crazy that Amazon Ring nor Samsung could help. Happy new year all.

By uninstalling apps I discovered one I had downloaded, ES File Explorer Manager, that added an extra step of using it (shows file tree) or Media Storage (correct choice to directly access the default ringtones) from the Sound, Ringtones menus. Now, the ring tones are shown when Media Storage is used. These were missing before. This should resolve my problem.

I have used that file explorer app for years and it hasn't hidden the default ringtones from selecting them. You do have to reset the default way to select the ringtones back to the media storage option and to remove the dialog asking which way to complete the action.

I Had same problem with my Droid Ultra Maxx & ES File Explorer. Ringtones present in Safe Mode, but not in normal mode. I Did not need to uninstall The app. Just cleared its data and cache.
