What is this app?

WhenTv helps you discover shows, get AI-powered recommendations, see upcoming episodes, and save series to your watchlist.

Search & Details

- How do I search for a show?

  Use the search field or the AI chat. Results and details come from TVMaze.

- Why isn’t the show I want appearing?

  Try a more exact title or year; check your network. If the AI reply is vague, ask “show suggestions again.”

AI Chat

- How do I get recommendations?

  Ask “comedies like The Office.” AI returns clickable chips; tap for a quick look and “Add to list.”

- How do I see the suggestions again?

  Say “show them” or “more like that”—it replays the last suggestions without a new search.

- Can I mark a show as seen?

  Long-press a suggestion chip and choose “Mark as seen” to avoid it in future tips.

Watchlist

- How do I add a show?

  From a detail view or an AI chip → “Add to list.” You can also “Add all” for a whole AI reply.

- How do I remove a show?

  Open its detail view and remove it from the list there.

Where to Watch (on-device AI)

- How do I check where a show streams?

  In the detail view, use “Where to Watch (AI)” → “Check with AI.” On-device Foundation AI lists providers for your region.

- Region handling:

  Uses your device locale. If AI can’t answer, tap “Quick search” to open a web search.

- Costs / keys:

  On-device only; no paid external API keys needed.

Upcoming Episodes

- Where do I see the next episode?

  In the show’s detail view or the “Upcoming Episodes” view (TVMaze data).

Privacy & Data

- What’s stored locally?

  Watchlist, seen flags, recent AI suggestions, and any cached “where to watch” results.

- What’s sent externally?

  Only TVMaze queries for search/details. On-device AI stays on-device. No third-party ad tracking.

- How do I clear data?

  Remove the app; a dedicated “clear cache/watchlist” toggle can be added if desired.

Troubleshooting

- App feels slow:

  Check your network. AI chat is optimized for typing, but large replies can take a moment.

- No AI reply:

  Retry, be more specific, or use Quick search.

- Missing shows or stream info:

  TVMaze may not have the title, or AI couldn’t determine availability. Use Quick search as fallback.

- Crash or odd behavior:

  Restart the app. If it persists, note the screen and steps and report it.

- Share feedback on incorrect suggestions, desired features (e.g., voice input, more filters), or data issues.
