Last updated: March 1, 2026
Effective date: March 1, 2026
1. Who We Are
When It Clicks ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a mobile game operated by Nikita Ovsyannikov, a solo developer based in Canada.
Contact email: nikitaogames@gmail.com
Jurisdiction: Canada
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, contact us at the email above.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App When It Clicks on iOS (and any other platforms where the App is offered). It applies to all users of the App.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information Stored on Your Device (Not Sent to Us)
The App stores the following only on your device (in app storage). We do not receive this data on our servers:
- Game progress (e.g., puzzles completed, collection state, milestones)
- Settings (e.g., ads enabled/disabled, tutorial state)
- Lives and in-app session data (e.g., current level, turns)
This data is used solely to provide the game (save/load, preferences) and is stored in your device's application storage.
3.2 Information Used for Advertising
To show ads and (where you consent) to personalize them, our ad partner may collect or receive:
- Advertising identifier (e.g., IDFA on iOS), when you have consented to tracking (e.g., via Apple's App Tracking Transparency)
- Device information (e.g., device type, OS, language)
- Approximate location (e.g., country or region), when made available by the platform
We do not control the ad partner's collection. Their use of data is governed by their own privacy policy (see Section 6).
3.3 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Name, email address, or other account identifiers (the App does not require an account)
- Precise geolocation
- Payment details (any purchases are processed by the platform, e.g., Apple)
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
1. Deliver and operate the App — e.g., save and load your progress, apply your settings, and provide game features.
2. Show and personalize ads — our ad partner uses device and advertising identifiers (with your consent where required) to deliver and, where applicable, personalize ads. You can limit tracking via in-app settings and your device (e.g., "Ask App Not to Track" on iOS).
3. Comply with law — where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
Legal basis (where applicable):
- Performance of a contract: Providing the game and its features (e.g., saving progress).
- Legitimate interests: Operating the App, showing ads, and improving our services in a way that respects your rights.
- Consent: Where the law requires consent (e.g., for certain tracking or personalized ads), we rely on the choices you make in the App or in your device settings.
We do not use your information for marketing or promotional communications (e.g., we do not send newsletters or promotional emails).
5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense. We may share or disclose information as follows:
5.1 Advertising Partner
We use Unity Level Play (ironSource) to show ads in the App. When ads are displayed, the ad partner may receive device and advertising identifiers and related technical data. Under some laws (e.g., the California Consumer Privacy Act), sharing identifiers for advertising may be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information.
Your choices:
- iOS: You can choose "Ask App Not to Track" when prompted (App Tracking Transparency).
- In-app: If we offer a "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" or similar option in Settings, we will pass that choice to our ad partner so they do not use your data for personalized advertising.
- CCPA: California residents may use the in-app opt-out (when available) or contact us at nikitaogames@gmail.com to opt out of "sale"/"share" of personal information.
5.2 Service Providers
We may use service providers (e.g., Unity, analytics or crash-reporting tools if we add them in the future) that process data on our behalf. They are required to use the data only as we instruct and in line with this policy.
5.3 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.
6. Third-Party Services and Their Policies
The App uses:
- Unity Level Play (ironSource) — for advertising.
- Unity — the App is built with Unity.
- Apple — for distribution and in-app purchases (if applicable).
We encourage you to read these policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
7. Data Retention
- On-device data: Game progress and settings remain on your device until you delete the App or clear its data.
- Data held by ad partners: Retention is determined by the ad partner's policy (see links above).
- Data we might hold: If we ever hold data on our own systems (e.g., support emails), we will retain it only as long as needed for the purpose or as required by law.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information used by the App. Data stored on your device is subject to your device's security. We do not transmit your game progress to our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Transfers
We are based in Canada. Our ad and technology partners may process data in other countries. Where we are responsible for such transfers, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., as required under applicable law) are in place.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights. We will respond to valid requests in line with applicable law.
10.1 General
- Access: Ask what personal information we hold about you (where we hold any).
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information (where we hold it).
- Deletion: Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., we may not hold much data ourselves; see Section 3).
- Object or restrict: Object to or ask for restriction of certain processing where the law provides.
10.2 European Economic Area (EEA) / UK (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.
10.3 California (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected and how it is used and shared
- Delete personal information (subject to exceptions)
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the "sale" or "share" of personal information (e.g., via in-app settings or by contacting us)
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense; sharing identifiers with our ad partner for advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "share" under California law. You can opt out via the in-app option (when available) or by emailing nikitaogames@gmail.com.
10.4 Canada (PIPEDA)
If you are in Canada, you have the right to access your personal information and to request correction. You may contact us at nikitaogames@gmail.com.
10.5 Exercising Your Rights
To exercise any of the above rights, contact us at nikitaogames@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at nikitaogames@gmail.com and we will delete it as required by law.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the App and/or at the same place you found this policy (e.g., App Store listing, our website). The "Last updated" and "Effective date" at the top will be revised. Your continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the updated policy. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (e.g., in the App or by email if we have it).
